Wilma Odessa Rasnick passed away on 1/7/24, in bed at home. She was 94 years old and had lived a very full life being saved and always loving the Lord as long as she could remember.
She was born in Womack, MO as the only child of Fred and Okah Caruthers. She had a simple "Little House on the Prairie" country style life. She taught herself how to sew clothes for her dolls and her cats and ultimately started designing her own clothes out of feed sack material. Her mother taught her basic music reading and piano playing and she wound up getting a job to pay for her own advanced piano lessons.
After high school she moved to St. Louis to attend business college and got pulled out early to interview and land the job as a secretary for the FBI.
After marrying the love of her life Clifton Rasnick, she settled into a life of staying at home with children, planting a garden and canning the vegetables, sewing, and playing the piano for church.
By the end of her life, she had given more than 60 years of service as the piano player for the churches they attended through their life, and by the time she became a member of Bread of Life in Michigan City, IN, she was a self-appointed encourager and played special "renditions" on the piano at her beloved Pastor Daniel Fleming's request.
Wilma was preceded in death by her husband Clifton Nichol Rasnick, and her eldest son Steve Rasnick. She is survived by her second oldest son Joseph Rasnick, her daughter Becky Cable, Grandchildren: Jeremy Rasnick, Devin Huff, Allison Raley and Kamilah Fleming (Daniel, Jr.) and 4 great grandchildren.
