His STORY...

Mr. Willie Russell Moore was Born July 16, 1943, in Charleston, Missouri to the late Varnie McDonial and Pauline Moore. 

Willie completed high school and soon after joined the Army. While in the armed forces he professed his life to Christ. In the summer of 1988, he met his forever life partner Gloria, and in June of 1992, they became one in holy matrimony where he gained 2 daughters, Victoria and Litesha. After serving 21 years in the military and 13 years of truck driving Willie enjoyed his retirement by traveling, fishing, spending time with family and friends, EMA Volunteer Support Team, crossing guard for the Local Schools, and last but most of all teaching and sharing his love for Christ.

On March 3, 2024, Willie was called home to be with our Lord and Saviour. He was preceded in death by his Mother: Pauline Moore, Father: Vernie McDonial, Siblings: Clarence Moore, Lonzo Moore, Bernice Moore, Earline Moore, Wesley McDonial, Jessie McCoy, Anna Mar Marie McDonial, Joe McDonial, and Samuel McDonial, and a Daughter: Litesha Floyd.

He leaves behind to cherish his memories his Loving Wife: Gloria Moore of Michigan City, IN; Daughter: Victoria (Darrell) Edwards of Michigan City, IN; 3 Sisters: Linda Williams of Michigan City, Indiana; Patricia Weston, Mary Joe McDonald both of  Milwaukee, Wisconsin; Verline Patterson of Texas; 6 Grandchildren: Kendra Reed, Chris Roberson Jr., and Jaylen Reed of Anniston, AL; DaQuintela Reed, Shaniqua Wright, and Brianna Truman all of Michigan City, Indiana; 2 Great Grandsons: Marquis Kirby and Darren Reed, Special Niece: Pauline Williams and special Friends: Pastor John Chalmer, Pastor Albert Isbell and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and Church family, extended family and friends.

Wilie's love, wave, smile, laughter and presence will be missed by all that knew him.

A Celebration of Life will be Saturday, March 23, 2024 at 11am, First Baptist Church of Lakeland 433 Dahlia St. Michigan City, Indiana 46360 with Pastor John E. Chalmers to be Eulogist. Viewing will be 10am until time of service at the Church. Burial will be Monday, March 25, 2024 10am at Swan Lake Memorial Gardens.
