HIS STORY…

Willie Lafayette Lynch affectionately known as “Fayte” was born February 15, 1955 to Moses D. Lynch and Lennia Stroud Lynch in Michigan City, Indiana.

Fayte attended Michigan City Area Schools and graduated from Elston Isaac Senior High School. He was an avid skater back in the day and enjoyed bowling. Fayte was also known as the “King of Bar-b-que”. He enjoyed his good old western movies as well as watching scary movies. Fayte also loved good music and dancing.

Fayte’s first job was at the Acrometal. He worked various jobs down through the years such as Blocksom and Company, Charlies Liquor Store, News Paper carrier, and at Wyatts Car Shop just to name a few. You could always find him working on someone’s car, but his greatest joy was spending time with his family and friends. He was an honorary member of Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church.

On December 11, 1993 Fayte married the love of his life Beverly Timberlake. They were married for 30 years, but together longer than that. He captured her love by serenading her with a song by Smokey Robinson “Point it out”  after that the rest is History. They have been in love ever since.

Willie Lafayette “Fayte” Lynch received his wings on March 9, 2023 at Northwest Health Porter in Valparaiso, Indiana surrounded by family.  He was also preceded in death by his parents: Moses D. Lynch and Lennie Stroud, maternal and paternal grandparents, his siblings: Rufus Lynch, Moses “June” Lynch, Josie Ruth Fairley, Ollie B. Gause, and a niece: Teresa Meriweather, along with other family members that awaited his arrival.

Fayte leaves to cherish his unforgettable memories his loving wife of 30 years Beverly Lynch of Michigan City, IN; his children: Toya Smith, and Nakia Lynch both of Dallas TX; Willie (Lakiesha) Lynch Jr., of Longview, TX; Ebony (Booker) Dunn of Red Oak, TX; Wendy (Willie) Henry III of Little Elm, TX; Bryan Lynch of Longview, TX; Pastor James (Latrecia) Lane Jr., of Michigan City, IN; Artis (Donita) Brown of Hammond, IN; and Eric Richard of Davenport, IA; his one  and only surviving sister: Mary Meriweather of Mesquite, TX; god-daughter: Antoinette Spicer of Michigan City, IN; along with a host of Special grandchildren, great-children, nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and friends dear to his heart.

Fayte’s love, laughter, presence, and smile will be sorely missed by all that knew him.

A Celebration of life will be Saturday, March 25, 2023 at Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church 717 E. 10thSt. Michigan City, Indiana 46360 at 11am with Pastor James E. Lane Jr., to do Eulogy. Viewing will be 10am until time of service. Interment will be private.
