In Loving Memory of Wanda Mankiewicz Wright
Wanda, at only 54 years old, left this world far too soon, her spirit shining brightly in our hearts forever. Early on a somber Thursday morning, she gracefully departed from us at Franciscan Health in Michigan City, Indiana, after bravely battling complications. Her life was a testament to love, joy, and the true meaning of cherishing every precious moment.
Born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to the loving Arlene and Donald Mankiewicz, Wanda’s journey was illuminated by her radiant soul. A proud graduate of DC Everett High School, she carried her vibrant spirit through every chapter of her life. She found unimaginable happiness in everyday life.
Wanda truly knew how to live—to embrace simple pleasures with passion. Her days were filled with the warmth of family and friends, her presence lighting up every room she entered. Her zest for life was evident in her love for travel and camping, the thrill of concerts and thrashing in mosh pits, the joy of grilling at BBQs, swimming with abandon, and cooking delicious feasts for large gatherings. She was the heartbeat of every celebration, her soul, smile and warm heart that lit up every room. Her big heart always overflowed with kindness and selflessness, putting others before herself with unwavering devotion.
She is survived by her beloved mother, Arlene Mankiewicz; her devoted husband, Thor Wright; her cherished children, Shane, Tyrus, and Alex; her caring brothers—John, Dwayne, David, and Vati—her nieces and nephews—Erin, Lexi, DJ, Makenna, Brandon, Allen, and Curtis—who carry her memory tenderly in their hearts. She is also profoundly missed by her son and brother's significant others, Kimberly, Ruthie & Sammie whose lives she touched so deeply and completely. She is also missed immensely by her sister-in-law Donna Lee. She reveled in being the heart of their world, her love infectious, her laughter contagious. To all family and friends who have reached out during this heartbreaking time, your words of compassion, prayers, and kindness have been a source of comfort and strength. Your love has been the comfort, a shining light through the darkness.
With heartfelt gratitude, we thank you from the depths of our souls. May God Bless You All and may Wanda’s beautiful spirit forever inspire us to live with love, joy, and endless passion.
Now she flies with butterflies.
