Vincent Steve Grant

Life's Reflections:

Vincent “Steve” Grant affectionately known as “Scant” was born on October 19, 1954 to Eugene Howard and Jessie Mae Howard. He had a special Stepfather William “Bill” Smith who also helped raise him and loved him as his own.

Steve enjoyed music and having a great time, but most of all he loved spending time with his family and friends.

Steve departed this life at Community Hospital in Munster, Indiana on November 18, 2022. He was preceded in death by his Father: Eugene Howard, Daughter: Nicole Bryson, Siblings: Pamela Howard, Vernon Howard, and Lawrence Sydney, Nephew: Dah’Reus Howard, Great-Great-Niece: Danila Grant, Special Friends: Wayne Davis, Paul Roberts, Johnny Jones, and Carlton “Snoop” Shannon Sr., and other relatives that welcomed him home.

He leaves to cherish his fond memories his Mother whom he adored: Jessie Mae Howard, his beautiful daughter whom he cherished: Cynthia Lynn “Cee-Cee” Howard, Three sisters: Phyllis (Frank) Miller, Andria Jarrett and Kanisha Scully, One Brother: Harold (Wendy) Howard, Two grandchildren he cherished: Derrick Ocean Coleman Jr., and
Chloe Jei Derbigny, Special lifetime loyal friend dear to his heart: Angela Eckwood, all of Michigan City, Indiana; along with five generations of nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

Steve’s smile, charm, presence, love, and laughter will be sorely missed by all that knew him.

A Celebration of life will be Saturday, November 26, 2022, 12 noon at Coleman and Hicks Chapel 101 N. Karwick Rd. Michigan City, Indiana 46360 with Apostle Vera Roberts to do Eulogy. Viewing will be 11am until time of service. Interment will be private.
