Tyanda Stanton

Tyanda Sharise Stanton was born March 7, 1971 to Tom Stanton and Sylvia Gill Garrett in Gary, Indiana. She later relocated to Michigan City, Indiana.

Ty graduate from Wirt High School in 1989. She attended New Jerusalem COGIC while living in Gary. Ty enjoyed hanging out with family and friends, barbecuing, shopping, listening to oldies but goodies, and watching her T.V. shows. Ty was ”the Life of the party”. She was presently employed at Blue Chip Casino as a Cage Cashier.

Tyanda departed this life on October 17, 2020 at Franciscan Health in Michigan City.

Funeral services will be Friday, October 30, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. Visitation will be 11am to 1pm until time of service at Coleman & Hicks Chapel 101 S. Karwick Rd. Michigan City, Indiana. Burial to, follow at Swan Lake Memorial Gardens. Pastor Dierre Glenn to officiate. 

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Sylvester Gill, Missionary Beatrice Gill; paternal grandparents, Kiddo Stanton, and Claira Stanton.

She leaves to cherish her unforgettable memories, her parents, Tom Stanton, Michigan City, Indiana; mother, Sylvia (Lawrence) Garrett of Smyrna, Tennessee; one sister, Alicia (Xavier Sims) Stanton, one brother, Myron Stanton both of Michigan City, Indiana; special niece, Markesha (Israel) Cartagena) of Michigan City, Indiana; special nephew, Darelle Patton of Michigan City, Indiana; one special great nephew, Sean Gunn, special friends, Kimberly Smith, Nichelle Prince, Shana McGregor, a special cousin, Carolyn Ferguson, along with a host of other relatives and friends.
