Obituary

His Story...

Tommy was born on January 29,1960, in Richmond Indiana to Bobby Joe Holland and Goldie Ella (Woods) Holland. He traveled down South, but always managed to return to his hometown. Tommy has been permanently in Richmond since the late 80’s.

He was a jack-of-all trades, there really wasn’t much Tommy couldn’t do. He spent his earlier years working in the Louisiana oil rigs for Technical Industries as a pipe inspector, once returning to Richmond he started a long career in the construction/ carpentry industry where he continued to work until his early retirement.

He was a dedicated father that took on the sole responsibility for the care of his two young children when their mother (Lona Ferrell) passed. He was loving, caring, and made sure his children never went without. For how much Tommy loved his children, he loved his grandchildren even more. He was a dedicated and present pillar in all his grandchildren’s lives and shared a special bond with his first grandchild JoJo.

Tommy was THE LIFE OF THE PARTY! Anyone one that met him, loved him. He spent his last years hanging with his beloved friends at the local bars, he called home. We felt this was important to add because many people in this community, that he met along the way, had become an extended family to him, and they all deserve recognition and to know he truly loved them.

Tommy will be greatly missed by his loving children Bobby Holland (Patti), and Jessica Holland (Daniel) of Michigan City, Indiana, His grandchildren Joseph Cottman (Jakia) (Kay’Cere) of Connersville, Indiana, and Aztin Holland of Michigan City, Indiana, His BESTFRIEND Kim Rodgers of Richmond, Indiana, His Brothers; Rocky Holland (Beth) of Ohio, Shawn Holland (Shonda) of Richmond, Indiana, and his sister Patricia Holland Wills (Keith) of Decatur, Alabama. As well as Tami Vice (Jon) of Dublin, IN. And Marie Bulot (Richard) of Richmond, Indiana and nieces; Taylor, Elizabeth, Shelly, Brianne, Nikki, nephews; Shawn II., Trenton, Trey, Bradley, Kevin, Patrick, Justin, Sky, Stanley, Lucas, Roger, Gordon.

Tommy Ray Holland 63, of Richmond, Indiana, went to be with the Lord on July 9, 2023. He is preceded in death by his mother (Goldie Woods Holland), father (Bobby Holland), brother (Bobby Holland), first wife (Lona Ferrell), granddaughter (Sincere Holland), and son (Stanley Fairchild).

“Celebration of Life” will be held in Richmond, Indiana Monday, July 17, 2023 at "Charles House" and Richmond Rose Garden (service 11-1) at Glenn Miller Park.
