On December 29,1958 a King, Tommy A Hodges Sr. was born in Michigan City, IN to David Hodges Sr. and Margaret L. Woodard-Hodges.
Tommy was known affectionately by all as DJ ‘Tommy T’! He enjoyed all genres of music. He was remembered best as a disc jockey and singing in groups back in the day. He played with his band, “Black Fire”. The band even performed as the opening act for Earth, Wind and Fire! Tommy was a professional Karaoke man, singing and playing everywhere he went. He was masterful at singing and playing music and taught himself how to do it all!
A True “people person” who never met a stranger, and was a talented, hard worker. Tommy completed college courses and worked as an IT contractor. More than anything, he enjoyed being dressed to the “T”, laughing and spending time with family and friends.
Tommy gained his wings on December 17, 2023, in Chicago, Illinois, where he currently resided. He was preceded in death by his parents: David Hodges Sr., and Margaret L. Woodard-Hodges, maternal grandparents: Clarence Nixon Sr., and Annie L. Nixon, 1 sister: Charlotte Hodges, 3 brothers: Richard “Ricky” Hodges, Jimmy Hodges, and David Hodges Jr., along with 4 grandchildren.
Tommy leaves to cherish his unforgettable memories his 7 children: Felicia Hodges of Indianapolis, IN; Tasha Hodges of Laporte, Indiana; Tommy Hodges, Shannon Hodges, and Lamont (Kelly) Hodges, all of Michigan City, IN; Karissa Hodges of Snellville, GA; and Shafiq Hodges of Etters, PA; 1 sister Ernestine (special brother in law Luther Wade Jr.) of Michigan City, IN; and Jabu Woodard of Murfreesboro, TN; 10 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren, 2 special cousins: Dennis Nixon, Eddie Lee Nixon and 1 special friend Pete Bureau of Michigan City, IN, along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
He will be dearly missed by all.
