Tommie Ridle Jr. Obituary

Tommie James Ridle Jr was born February 26, 1960 to Mary Ridle (Jenkins) and the late Tommie J. Ridle Sr. in Columbus, GA. Tommie was raised in East Chicago, IN and then later relocated to Michigan City, IN in 1982.

Tommie graduated from East Chicago Washington High School in 1978. Tommie attended Purdue University and obtained a bachelor’s degree in Management in 1982. During his time at Purdue University, he proudly joined the Kappa Alpha Psi fraternity. After graduating from Purdue University he was employed with Westville Correctional Facility for 15 years. After leaving Westville Correctional facility, Tommie worked several jobs including the healthcare field until his passing.

Tommie loved watching television shows, movies, reading and spending time with his grandchildren (and giving them candy). He was passionate about education and excelling in academics. Tommie was known by his children to enjoy cooking shrimp and French toast. He loved to eat strawberry flavored anything and cheesecake. He had a heart for taking care of and helping others. Tommie could be heard at any event or function often telling people “cut the shit.” It is phrase he is loved for.
