With profound sadness and a heavy heart, we announce the passing of Thomas Charles Anthony White, lovingly known as "Beanie" or "Tony" to his close friends and family. Born on March 15, 1948, in Chicago, IL.
Thomas graduated from Hyde Park High School. His supportive nature, coupled with his naturally endearing charisma, made him a beacon for those seeking guidance. As a drug counselor, he worked tirelessly at a halfway house to recovery, offering a helping hand to those on their path to sobriety. His dedication was not only to his profession but extended to the love he held for his family, clothes. sports, and even his remote control. Thomas was a man who found joy in the simple things, proving that happiness is a matter of perspective.
His journey on earth came to a peaceful close on October 8, 2024. He was preceded in death by his parents, maternal and paternal grandparents and two siblings, along with a host of other relatives that went on before him.
Thomas is survived by his 4 children: Anthony Harris, who was his pride and joy, along with three other children, 2 sisters: Portland Haynes, and one (deceased) Patricia White, 1 Brother (deceased) James White.
Thomas’s love, laughter, presence and smile will be sorely missed by all that knew him. And we take comfort in knowing that he is now at peace surrounded by light.
A Celebration of life will be Sunday, November 24, 2024 at Up & Smoke Restaurant from 1 to 5 pm. (517 E. Barker Ave. Michigan City, IN 46360.)
