We gather here today to celebrate the life of a beloved mother, wife, and grandmother, Terry Lynn Costello, affectionately known as Terry to those who knew and loved her. Born on July 4, 1955, in Valparaiso, IN. Terry spent a lifetime leaving indelible marks on the hearts of everyone she encountered. She departed from us on September 22, 2024, leaving a legacy of love, resilience, and dedication.
Terry was a woman of many traits, but it was her unwavering spirit and dedication that set her apart. She was the glue that held her family together, her love and care extending beyond her immediate family to all who were fortunate to know her. Terry was a devoted worker, spending her career in a cleaning service for a factory, a role that she carried out with dignity, integrity, and unending commitment. She was a firm believer in the words of Martin Luther King Jr., who once said, "All labor that uplifts humanity has dignity and importance and should be undertaken with painstaking excellence."
Terry is survived by her loving husband, Lamont Byrd, her devoted children, Cristina Cobb, Tonya Troy, and Michael and Matthew Brown. She will be fondly remembered by her son-in-law Julian Cobb, and daughter-in-law Lindsay Johnson. Her memory will continue to live on in her cherished grandchildren; Joshua, Lana, and Ethan Troy; Lyric, Harper, Cadence, Gibson, and Gracelynn Brown. Terry6 was preceded in death by her parents, James and Verna Fornshell. In the words of Maya Angelou, "People will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel." Terry's love and caring nature will forever be remembered by all who had the privilege to know her.

A Memorial Celebration of life will be Monday, September 30, 2024 1pm at Coleman & Hicks Chapel 101 S. Karwick Rd. Michigan City, Indiana 46360.
