Taurenean Jackson Obituary

Ren’s Story

Taurenean Montreal Jackson, Sr. was born on February 9, 1992, in Michigan City, Indiana to Ta-Tanesha (Brenton) George and Eddie Lee Jackson, Jr.

Taurenean, called “Ren-Ren” and “Ren” by those who loved him spent his early years attending church services with his Great-Grandmother, Florida Lewis and Grandmother, Johnnie Jackson.  He was the first child in the family to call his Great-Grandmother Nora Brown “Granny Grip” because he had so many grandmothers.  He was always surrounded by friends and family, and many of the friendships he formed as a child lasted into his adult years.

Ren’s first home was in Harborside, but he later moved to the Eastport area.  It was at 517 Walker Street that Ren grew into manhood; “Walker Street 4 Life” was his favorite phrase.  A product of Michigan City Area Schools, he was a member of the Michigan City High School Class of 2010.

When Ren received his first gaming system, the Nintendo 64, he fell in love.  After that, wherever he went you could bet his game unit was with him.  His favorite game franchise was NBA 2K.  He didn’t like people to know it, but he was so smart; he liked to read, and he was an undercover “Jeopardy!” fan.

Ren broke the hearts of all who loved him when he departed this life on Tuesday, May 30, 2023.  He will be welcomed in heaven by his Son: Aspen Kyrie Young-Jackson, Great-Grandmother: Florida Lewis, his Great-Grandfather: Walter Lewis, Aunt: Shirley Clark, Uncles: Sheldon and John Richmond and Childhood Friend: Anthony “Shaq” Murphy.

Those he leaves behind to cherish his memories include his parents: all of Michigan City, IN; his children: Taurenean Jackson, Jr. and A’Nora Jackson of Michigan City, IN., Friend/Partner: Amber Young, Siblings:  Da’Shanay Jackson of Indianapolis, IN; Tyanna Clark, Tyallah Kimble, Bailey George, Brittney George and Marcus Wilson of Michigan City, IN; Derrick Ellis and Areva Ellis of Lake Charles, LA; Grandparents:  Gloria Jackson and Johnnie Ree Jackson of Michigan City, IN; Sidney Jackson of Elkhart, IN; Eddie Jackson, Sr. of Kingsford Heights, IN; and John Burton of Muskegon Heights, MI; Great-Grandmother: Nora Brown of Michigan City, IN; Aunts: Marlene Jackson, Tawania Glover and TaNora Wright all of Michigan City, IN; Toya Richmond and Sakota Triplett of Milwaukee, WI; Uncles: Donles Jackson of South Bend, IN; Oba Glover and Omar Clark of Michigan City, IN; Mother of his children: Ahshana Sutherland, Michigan City, IN; Brothers and Sisters: Tiere Jackson, Cameron Tarr, Ta’Oshay Taylor and Raven Jackson all of Michigan City, IN; Two Nephews, four Nieces along with a host of Uncles, Aunts, Cousins & Friends.

Ren will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
