Steven Lawrence (“Buddy”) Wrice

Steven “Buddy” Lawrence Wrice was born in Michigan City, to Christel Wrice Holley and Steven Parker on December 25, 1987. 

Steven “Buddy” attended Michigan City Area School. Buddy was a loving devoted son father, Brother, cousin, nephew, uncle, and friend. He was a happy soul who never met a stranger and always made you laugh. He loved road trips with family. He loved fishing, with his family and his dogs Halalina, Hollar and Tequila. Buddy was unique with his love for snakes, lizards and several exotic animals. He was an avid Chicago Bear fan, BEAR DOWN!

Steven “Buddy” departed this life on Sunday, April 30th, 2023 in South Bend, Indiana.

He leaves to cherish his fond memories, his parents, Christel (Otha Lee) Holley and Steven (Deda Allen) Parker of Atlanta, GA; children Laniyah Wrice, Braylan James Wrice, Stevie Wrice and Alancia Wrice all of Michigan City; paternal grandfather, Willie Parker of Michigan City; siblings, Charles Holley, Britney Holley, Carrie McKnight, Larry Holley, Lee Garrett, Brenton Holley, and Stevie Lewis all of Michigan City, Ryan Parker and Stecoya Parker both of Atlanta, GA, Angie Bates and Dominque Martin both of Indianapolis, IN; brothers and sisters than were very impactful in his life, Micheal Wrice and Abraham Wrice both of Kentucky, Imani Wrice, Kierra Wrice and Rose (RoRo) Wrice all of Chicago; a host of loving aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Nathaniel and Mattie Sue Wrice; paternal grandmother Arlima Parker; sister, Christel Parker and brother, Nathaniel Holley; aunt, Patricia Wrice and two uncles, Donnie Love and Jamail Sallie.

Buddy will be missed and loved by all who knew him!

A Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday, May 6, 2023 at Mt. Zion MBC at 11:00am with visitation from 10:00am until the time of service at the church. 

Burial will take place at Swan Lake Memorial Gardens on Monday, May 8, 2023 at 11:00am.
