Loving Father, Brother, Uncle and Friend Steven Dwayne Coleman Sr. was born October 3, 1965 to the late Tommie C. Coleman and the late Mary (Jenkins) Coleman.
As a young child he was baptized and became a member of First Baptist Church of Lakeland. As a child he fell in love with working on cars, driving motorcycles and fishing. After graduating from Rogers High School he went on to drive semi trucks, work for Pepsi and become an all around handyman. After moving to South Bend he joined Spiritual Lights Christian Center under the direction of Pastor Aaron Jones.
In 1988 he married his childhood sweetheart Kimberley Fargo in Michigan City. After their relationship ended they remained good friends.
Sadly on Tuesday January 4, 2022 he departed this life at his home in South Bend, Indiana. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother: Mary Cotton, maternal grandparents: Charlie Jenkins and Lucille (Smith) Jenkins, uncle: Terry Farmer, aunts: Inell Garrett and Fay Nell Davis, close friends: William Amos Howard, Curtis Plump and Prince Whetstone Sr.
A Celebration of Life will take place on Monday, January 10, 2022 at 12 noon at Coleman and Hicks Chapel 101 S. Karwick Rd. Michigan City, Indiana 46360 (FOR IMMEDIATE FAMILY ONLY). A viewing open to friends will be from 11 am until 12 noon. Burial to follow at Swan Lake Memorial Gardens. (MASK ARE REQUIRED)!!!!!!!!!!!!
He leaves to cherish his memories, his children Asia Coleman Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; and Steven Dwayne Coleman Jr., of South Bend, Indiana; four grandchildren DaVione Coleman, Titus and Taylor Ellington and SehQuan Allen, One brother: Tommie (Sonja) Coleman of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; one sister: Tracy Coleman, his aunt/special mother: Leomia Farmer both of Michigan City, Indiana; special cousin: Henry (Hank) Mayo, special friends: Bruce Mitchell, Charles Geter and Barry Calvin, as well as many nieces and nephews that called him Uncle FuFu, friends and family members.
He will be sorely missed by all that knew him.
