Shylis Unique Garrett

Shylis Unique Garrett was born May 23, 2001, in South Bend, Indiana. She gained her wings on July 14, 2023.

She was a member of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church. Shylis enjoyed cooking, eating, and spending time with her son.

She was preceded in death by her mother Shyree Simmons, her brother Sylvester Harris, her uncle Edward Webb, aunts Josie McDonald and Mary Hull, and special cousins, Mahogany D. Webb and Donovan Webb.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her precious son Nolan Omari Garrett, her father Ulysses Garrett, stepmother Loretta Edwards, sisters: Imani Monee Byrd, Dynesti Lache Brooks, and Angel Calvin, brothers: Frederika Williams, Marquise Phillips, Ameer Christopher, Armon Christian, Ulysses Garrett II, Chavez Garrett, and Fred Webster Jr., grandmothers: Johnnie Peterson, and Annette Simmons, grandfathers: Ernest Garrett and Eddie Webb, uncles: Marcus Webb, Wille Garrett, Tommie Horn & Bennie Luckett, aunts: Aushanti Webb, Heloise Johnson, Johnnie Ruth & Myrtise Garrett, cousins: Eric Jones, Marcus, Michael & Mariah Webb, Kejuan & Tawain Ford, Mahogany Covington, godparents: Mr & Mrs. Patton and a host of great aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. 

A Celebration of Life will take place on July 29, 2023 at 11:00am at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church 730 W. 6th St., Michigan City, IN with visitation at 10:00am until the time of service at the church. Burial will take place at Evergreen Memorial in Hobart, Indiana at a later date. Pastor Felicia Blakley will officiate.
