Ryan Cross Obituary

Ryan King Cross was born at St. Anthony Hospital in Michigan City, IN to his parents Ryann and Christopher Cross on December 6, 2014, at 9:13 a.m.  We felt so blessed to have our baby! Ryan was the youngest of his siblings. He was always being held, hugged and kissed. We affectionately called him King.

Ryan felt that love and constantly gave it back. He told his family persistently how much he loved us.  Ryan was kind, intuitive, and very smart. Although Ryan was a picky eater, he loved his broccoli cheddar soup, grape tomatoes and anything sweet. King was also a great singer. His voice was pitch perfect. He loved to play games on his Nintendo Switch and would often sneak to stay up all night playing them. Ryan attended St. Paul Lutheran School as a first grader. He loved learning and adored his school and church family. He treasured learning about The Bible and the word of God. He was excited everyday to be there.  Ryan asked to play football this summer. So, Ryan joined the Pop Warner 6U team as number 8.  He chose 8 and said it was his favorite number.  Red was his favorite color, so we bought a red jersey and pants for practice. When he got his cleats, he learned to tie his shoes in one day because he wanted to be ready for the season and show us that he was a big boy! Ryan never smiled so hard! He told us that playing football was the best time of his life..

King leaves behind to cherish his memories his beloved parents, Ryann and Christopher, his siblings, Christopher Cross, Jr., T’Astae Cross, Deandre Webb, Krista Cross, Bri’Ann Gaston-Cross, Taylor Moore, Tamiyah Moore, Tyler (EdaJonai) Moore, Sr., Ava Moore, Ashton and Alani Tompkins, and Davaris Garrett, his maternal grandmother, Debra Ross, paternal grandmother, Jackie Garner, his nephews, Lee Kirkwood, III, Sebastian Donaldson, Tyler Moore, Jr., Aiden Peterson, Tyrese, Jr., and Tyrez Morris-Cross, Deandre Webb, Jr.,  his nieces Kamora Cross,  Ky’Aire Gaston, Tai’Lynn, A’Moura, Ta’Nyla Morris-Cross, Desire’ , De’Onna, Ra’Naya Webb, and T’Amora Cross, his aunts Mattie Garner, Roslyn Sutton and Ronda Ross, Gyla (Tony Terrell) Cross-Terrell, uncle: Michael Cross, special cousins, Tiffany Garner and Tennika Johnson, friend, Kenneth Kirk, best friend/cousin Yana Grimes, and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, family members and friends whom he loved dearly.

Ryan transitioned on September 5, 2021. He is preceded in his passing by his paternal great-grandparents Emma and Uzell Garner, Sr., his maternal great-grandparents George Ross and Vivian Cain, his paternal grandfather, Michael Cross, Sr., maternal grandfather Robert Moore, his uncles Robert “Bob” Moore, Lee “Reggie” Ross and his brother, Tyrese Morris-Cross.
