Robert Lee Jones Sr.

Robert Lee Jones was born on July 28,1949 to Sylvester Jones and Francis Burns in Carrollton, Mississippi.

Robert was a loving father, awesome husband, provider, grandfather, brother, and brother-in-law. He enjoyed cooking and watching his westerns and his wrestling. He was an awesome man of God!

Robert Jones went to JJ Mclane School in Lexington, Mississippi and later moved to Chicago in the early 60's where he began to work for the Sante Fe trucking company and later went to retire from there in 1975. He was a hard working man that had another full time job as a forklift operator at the local bakery.

While in Chicago Robert met a very beautiful young lady named Jacqueline Hawkins. She became the love of his life!! They met while she was still a young lady. He came back to get his wife once she turned 18. They wed shortly after in the summer of 1991, and they stayed married for 31 years until God called him home. They have one son Robert Jones Jr. to this union.

Robert went home to be with the Lord on January 4, 2022. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, sisters, Bernice Davis and Betty Brown. 

He leaves to cherish his unforgettable memories, his loving wife Jacqeline Jones, one son Robert Jones Jr., two daughters: Lakisha Hampton, Trinity Hawkins, grandchildren: Jamilya, Robert Dequan, Delialah, Demerion, Mikaela, Jalyn Madi’yanna, Javonte. four brothers: and ten sisters: Sylvester (Betty) Jones, Jimmy (Beatrice) Jones, Johnnie (Linda) Jones, Lester (Erica) Jones, Flores (Henry) Phillips, Emma (Isaiah-Bo) Jones, Desi (William) Harper, Flora (Jerry) Johnson, Willie Mae (Robert) Pete, Dora Jones, Minnie (Earl Lee) Brooks, Lucille (Lonnie) Sanders, Pearlee (Frank) Shelley, Joyce (Clay) Nash, Brother-in-laws: Gregory Hawkins, Anthony "Amp" Hawkins, Lanell Watson, Derrick (Ronesha) Watson, Christopher Watson, sister-in-laws: Shanell Watson, Angela Hawkins,Tamika Watson, Nichole Watson, Tammy Watson, Tia Watson, Estalita Watson, Alice Tyler, Stephanie Grant, father-in-law: Lanell Watson Sr. very special niece: Special aunt and uncle: Ella and Lindsey Nichols, Alayna Wallace, special nephew: Robert and Katie Chandler, John Eddie Chandler, Edward Chandler, Jessie and Cindy Chandler, special friends: Ernest and Lisa Pickett, Walter Steel, and Lee Phillips along with a host of special aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Robert will be sorely missed by all that knew him.
