Robert Lee Garrett

Robert Lee Garrett was born on November 22, 1956 to Walter Lee Johnson and Della Mae Garrett in Michigan City, Indiana.

Robert  grew up in Michigan City, IN.  Robert was raised by Herman and Beatrice Pearson. He attended Elston High School. Robert Lee enjoyed spending time with family and friends, playing cards, playing the drums, and was the "Life of the party".

Robert departed this life on March 31, 2021 at Franciscan Health. He was preceded in death by his father, Walter Lee Johnson, a grandson, Darrell Edwards Jr., one brother, Aaron (Junebug) Sparkman Jr.

Robert leaves to cherish his memories his mother, Della Mae Garrett of Michigan City, IN; three children, Tamara Richmond, and Molly (Shalunda) Richmond of Atlanta GE; Lavonda (Johnny) Miller of South Bend, IN; four sisters, Gertrude Pearson-Biggers and Mary Garrett both of Michigan City, IN; Eva Garrett-Walker of Waukegan, IL; and Katherine (Frank) Moore of South Carolina; two brothers, James Garret of Lansing, MI; and Ricky Sparkman of Michigan City, IN; along with a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.

 

There will be a visitation from 4pm-6pm with a Twilight hour from 6pm-7pm for family and friends to reflect on the life and legacy of Robert.
