Robert A. "Chubby" Daniels

Robert Anthony “Chubby” Daniels was born to Robert Tony Daniels & Ora Bell Hatcher on March 16, 1956 in Michigan City, Indiana.

Chubby attended Michigan City Area Schools. After graduating high school, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy.

He enjoyed being at home and watching sports. The Boston Celtics was his favorite team.

Robert departed this life on January 20, 2023 at Franciscan Health. He was preceded in death by his parents: Robert and Ora Bell, one son: Damon Daniels; two sisters: Claudia Hatcher Sims and Patricia Peals; one brother: Bernard Daniels, four brother-in-laws: Jeffery Lynn Ellis, Tony Adams, Dennis Tillman and Cosie Daniel III; one sister-in-law: Maryann Langham, mother and father-in-law Cosie, Jr. and Bernice Daniel.  

 Surviving to cherish his unforgettable memories are his wife whom he adored: Mary Daniels, Michigan City; eight children: Tina Starks and Charity Hopkins both of Mississippi; Robert Lark, California;  Angela Daniel, Minnesota; Eugenia Frazier, Nebraska;  Jennifer Daniels, Florida; Twanda Turner and Matthew Turner both of Michigan City; two brothers: Johnny Langham, Michigan City and Timothy (Cheryl) Daniels, LaPorte; two sisters: Elizabeth Tillman and Carol Denise Adams all of Michigan City; one brother-in-law: Jerry (Elaine) Daniel, three sisters-in-laws,: Brenda Ellis, Marilyn Smith both of Michigan City and Amy Daniel, Iowa; 33 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; special friend/bonus brother: Charles E. Hampton, Michigan City; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.  

A Celebration of life will take place on January 30, 2023 at 1pm, at Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church 717 E. 10th St. Michigan City, Indiana 46360 with Pastor James E. Lane Jr., to give Eulogy. Interment will be private.
