Life’s Reflections….
On June 28, 2023, Ralph Mosley’s spirit was called upon by the Lord. He was born on February 12, 1946, in Gary, IN to Ralph Mosley Sr. and Maria Streeter .
Ralph had a passion for playing instruments. He learned to play the trombone at a young age. He also played the saxophone and violin. Ralph served our country in a great way. He enlisted in the Army in 1974 and was in the National Guard until 1997. In 1996, he was on duty as the National Guard when the bombing happened at the Atlanta Olympics, where he rushed people to safety. When he was discharged, he was ranked as a Staff Sergeant.
In 1980, Ralph began his wonderful and distinguished career at the Michigan City Fire Department. He was noted in the news dispatch for his bravery on two separate occasions. First, were he saved a senior citizen from a fire on the third floor. Secondly, he went into a burning building to save a small boy, while suffering injuries to himself. Ralph was also a Michigan City legend, by lighting our eye dropping, annual fireworks display at our own famous Washington Park.
Ralph is preceded in death with Ralph Mosley Sr. and Maria Streeter, as well as his son Kevin Mosley, and great grandson Jamarrion Stevenson.
Ralph is survived in death by his 2 sons, Mario Mosley and Marcus Mosley. His 2 daughters, Tekilah Chatmon and Najah Kolasa. He is also survived by his sister, Maria Georgene Mosley-Range, his special cousin Regina Stephens, 1 niece, 3 nephews, 3 great nieces, as well as 18 grand children, and 13 great grand children.
His Celebration of Life will be held Wednesday, July 19, 2023 at 11am at Coleman and Hicks Chapel 101 S. Karwick St. MIchigan City, Indiana 46360.
Viewing will be 10am until time of service. Burial to follow at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery 20953 W. Hoff Rd. Elmwood, IL 60421.
