Her Story...
Picola L. Wilson was born June 9, 1975 in Michigan City, Indiana to Gettis Sr. and Pearline C. Curry.
Picola was raised and lived in Michigan City from birth to early adulthood. She resided in Tennessee and Florida for many years before returning home. She completed her education at Ivy Tech Community College with Honors. Picola loved traveling, listening to music, watching movies, trying new foods, and hanging out with friends. She loved sports and her teams were Golden State Warriors, Alabama Crimson Tide, Philadelphia Eagles (well Jalen Hurts). She believed in her faith and could easily converse about the Bible, beliefs and values. Picola will always be remembered for her strength and courage. She was determined to win the race. Miss Wilson was employed as an officer at Westville Correctional Facility. She also worked for H & R Block.
Picola Laquan Wilson gained her wings on August 9, 2025. She was preceded in death by her Grandparents; her Father: Gettis J. Curry Sr., Cousin/Brother: Marvin "Boobie" Wilson and a host of Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins, and Friends.
Survivors include her Mother: Pearline C. Curry, Sister: Dadra Curry, Brother: Gettis J. Curry Jr., all of Indianapolis, IN; Nephew: Theodore Phillips, Aunt: Ida Chamblain, Gary, IN; Uncle: Richard Chamblain, Tucson, AZ; special Cousin: Londyn, and a host of other Cousins. She loved them dearly and you couldn't tell her that she wasn't the Big Sister. She also leaves to cherish her memories, special Friends Mary (Antoinette) Sims, Shina Gay, and Kevin "Cookie" Woods.
Picola's love, laughter, smile, and presence will be sorely missed by all that knew her.
