Ruth (meaning) Friend to All

Ruth Marie Worlds was born July 4,1937 in Augusta, Arkansas, to the union of Smith Bryson and Jodi Arnold Bryson, both who preceded her in death. She was the great matriarch of the family also known as the “Mayor of Lakeland” and the beloved “Aunt Sis” and “Babe Ruth".

Ruth found the love of her life Glenard Worlds and they were married on May 25, 1956. He also preceded her in death. They raised their own village and fed the multitude with much love as well as food. Ruth worked for Plastic Masters as a machine operator in New Buffalo, Michigan for 25 years. Ruth had a deep passion for her family. Ruth loved going fishing, going to quartet musicals, and watching all kinds of sports. She often supported her grandchildren’s sporting events, especially her special grandson “Man Mans” events and sponsored the bowling team “Babe Ruth’s Girls” for many years. Ruth touched everyone she met.

Ruth Loved the Lord and had a great Christian Journey and was a blessing to several ministries in her community. She started her Christian Journey at Life in the Word Church under the Leadership of her cousin, Pastor Curtis Deal. Later, she helped found Divine Inspiration under the Leadership of some family members and assistance from her daughter Minister Marcia Neal. A ministry that was blessed to start right in Ruth and Glenard’s home. At the time of her transition, she was a member at Deliverance and Victory Five-Fold Ministry under the leadership of Apostle Darrell and Vera Roberts where she was a beloved church mother.

Mother Ruth Worlds was promoted from earth to glory on March 12, 2024 at St. Mary's Medical Center in Hobart, Indiana. She was joined in Heaven by family that awaited her arrival, 5 CHILDREN: Anthony and Amy, who both died as infants, Timothy Boyd, Leslie Boyd, and Kenny Boyd, 1 BROTHER: William Bryson a.k.a Bubba, STEPMOTHER: Arlene Bryson, 2 GRANDCHILDREN: Lamont Neal and Monique Worlds.

A Celebration of life will be Saturday, March 23, 2024 at 1pm at Faith City Assembly of God 1314 S. Woodland Ave. Michigan City, Indiana with Apostle Vera Roberts to be Eulogist. Viewing will be 12noon until time of service at the Church.

A wake will be held on Friday, March 22, 2024 from 5-8pm at Coleman & Hicks Chapel 101 S. Karwick Rd. Michigan City, Indiana 46360.

Interment will be Monday, March 25, 2024 12 noon, Swan Lake Memorial Gardens 5700 W US HWY 20 Michigan City, Indiana 46360.
