HER LEGACY... The Story of Mother Brenda Gay-Albert
A life of faith, love, and service! These are the words that best describe Brenda Gay- Albert. She was a woman who walked closely with the Lord, lived with grace, and poured her heart into everyone she encountered. Her journey began on September 18, 1962, in Chicago, Ilinois where she was born to Bubble Gay Sr. and Ruby Gay.
From her earliest years, Brenda carried a quiet strength and a joyful spirit that would become the hallmark of her life. Growing up in Chicago, Brenda’s days were filled with family, church, and the values that would shape her character and devotion on to Christ. It was during these early years that her faith was nurtured, and her heart prepared for the calling God had placed on her life. As a young woman, Brenda met Colliens “Bill” Albert who would become not only her life partner but also her best friend. In 1989, together Bill and Brenda relocated to Michigan City, Indiana where they would have a fresh start and begin se ng a life to raise their family of 4. They made this their permanent home to share countless memories and demonstrated what it meant to walk hand in hand with God and one another. Brenda’s life was more than years lived, it was a testimony of service, worship, and love. She faithfully served at Revival Center COGIC, uplifting others through her roles on many ministries including choir, usher board, Mother’s Board, Woman’s Ministry, and The Prayer team. She also dedicated many years of her heart and service to local childcare facilities, including Giggly Wiggly Daycare, where she earned the title to be affectionately known as “Granny” to all of her daycare babies. Her warm smile, kind words, and unwavering encouragement le an imprint on everyone she encountered.
