Minister Tonya Denise Glenn

. On May 18, 1958 Minister Tonya Denise Glenn was born to Enoch and Delores Glenn in Gary, Indiana. Both of her parents have preceded her in death.

She accepted Christ at an early age. Tonya attended and graduated from Roosevelt High School in Gary. After High School she worked alongside her parents for the families self-owned business at Glenn’s Catering Services. Tonya also worked at various hospitals as a Phlebotomist, and Unit Clerk with her most recent job being at the Hampton Inn as a Clerk.

She grew up singing in the choir at the family’s home Church New Mt. Moriah in Gary, Indiana under the leadership of Rev. Reed. She then became a member and sang on Praise and Worship at Advancing Christ’s Kingdom Ministries of Gary, Indiana under the leadership of Apostle James (Sharon) Randolph who are still our overseers. Tonya would later join and become a proud and faithful member, servant, Intercessor, Prayer Warrior, Altar and Communion worker at Advancing Christ’s Kingdom Ministries of Michigan City under the leadership of her Brother Pastors’ Dierre and Patricia Glenn where she worked diligently. She enjoyed cooking, decorating, and working in the Ministry but most of all had a special love for children.

On December 13, 2022 Minister Tonya Denise Glenn was promoted from “Earth to Glory” at Franciscan Health Center. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Enoch and Delores, one brother, Pierre Glenn and her maternal grandparents, Willie and Virginia Garrett.

She leaves to cherish her unforgettable memories 3 brothers: Dierre (Patricia) Glenn of Portage, Indiana; Kaimel Glenn of Baltimore, Maryland; and Jaimel Glenn of Portage, Indiana; Tonya had no children of her own but was a Beloved Aunt/Mom to her nieces and nephews whom she adored: Quantina Glenn of Indianapolis, Indiana; Nyeetra Glenn, Damonica (Earl) Augusta, of Portage, Indiana; Kedrick (Erica) Glenn, Dierre Glenn Jr., both of Indianapolis, Indiana; Darnitha Glenn, and Demetrius (Zasmine) Glenn all of Portage, Indiana; 6 great nieces and 8 great nephews whom she cherished, 6 special friends who were like sisters to her: Pamela Gilmore, and Mary Shipp both of Gary, Indiana; Elder Victoria Wilcher, Mischelle Battle, Carolyn Williams all of Michigan City, Indiana; and Minister Linda Mixon of Portage, Indiana, along with a host of other relatives, friends, and her ENTIRE ACKM_MC CHURCH FAMILY!!!

Minister Tonya’s love, laughter, witty sense of humor, smile, and presence will be sorely missed by all that knew her.

A Celebration of Life will take place Friday, December 23, 2022 at 11am, at Advancing Christ’s Kingdom Ministries-Michigan City 1428 E. Michigan Blvd. Michigan City, Indiana 46360. Viewing will be 10am until time of service. Internment will be private.
