 HIS STORY...

Michael Fields, affectionally known as “Mike,” was born on June 21, 1959, in Chicago, IL to the late Josephine Fields and Johnnie Estelle.

Michael grew up in Chicago where he attended elementary school and high school at Carver High School. Later in his life, he relocated to Georgia with his wife. Michael was a hardworking individual, and his employers truly appreciated him. He worked at LePetite Baker in Marietta, Georgia for a couple years, and his last employer was National Diversified Sales in Powder Springs, Georgia where he also worked as a laborer. Mike confessed Jesus Christ as his Lord and savior at a young age and rededicated his life again at the Embassy City Church under the leadership of Apostle Brian Meadows in Powder Springs, Georgia. Michael was a jokester, and he enjoyed barbecuing with his family and friends. He also loved playing chess, cards (spades and bid whist), shooting pool, and going down the rabbit hole of watching Tik Tok. He loved helping people and never complained about anything. In fact, he would give you the shirt off his back. He was passionate about encouraging people who were feeling discouraged, and he would always do something to make you laugh.  

Michael departed his life on April 3, 2024, at WellStar Medical Hospital in Austell, Georgia.   

Michael leaves the following to cherish his memories his father, Calvin, his devoted wife: Charon, his one and only precious daughter: Barbara, and his three grandchildren: Jordan, Toi’yon and Kayla, additionally, he leaves his bonus daughters: Kawana and Shalaila; some wonderful bonus grandchildren: Zuri and Athena; and great grandchildren: Kingston, Adonai, Ashiyah, and Zia to cherish his memories, sister, Yolanda (Leon); brother, Calvin; nieces: Antoinette, Mondean, Tasha, April, Nyree, Karen, Creshondia, CreSandra and Amber; one nephew,: Corey, and a host of great-nieces: and nephews, cousins, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother: Josephine Fields, his sister: Renee Fields, his brother: Gail Fields, and his nephew: Dorion Tompkins, Michael was loyal to his best friend: Mark Johnson, who also preceded him in death.

Michael's presence love, and laughter will be sorely missed by all that knew him.

A Celebration of life will be held Saturday, April 30, 2024 at 2pm at Precious Memories Chapel 7605 S. Halsted St. Chicago, Illinois 60620. Viewing will be 2pm until time of service.Viewing will be 1pm until time of service. Interment will be private.
