On June 6, 1994 A King was born Micah Alfonzo Garrett into this world by his parents, Yvonne Cooper and Willie C. Garrett in Michigan City, Indiana.
He attended Michigan City Area Schools. He was a loving father, son, brother, uncle and friend. His personality was one that made those around him love him. He was a big teddy bear. Micah loved to dress, listen to music, shoot craps, and “was a ladies man”, and a true hustler.
Funeral services will be private.
Micah departed this life on November 25, 2020 in Michigan City, Indiana. He was preceded in death by his bonus father Korery Augusta Sr., maternal grandparents, Alfonzo Cooper, Steve Hurt Sr., paternal grandfather, Ernest Garrett, two great grandmothers, Mattie Cooper and Ethel Mae Wright, one great-great grandmother Elizabeth Harris, one aunt Krystyna Hurt.
Micah leaves to cherish his memories, his mother whom he adored Yvonne Cooper of Michigan City, Indiana; his father, Willis Garrett, one son, Mekhi Allen Avery Garrett two brothers, Korery Augusta Jr., Triston Augusta, all of Michigan City, Indiana; eight sisters, Cionna Cooper, of Michigan City, Indiana; Alicia (Ronnie) Johnson of Madison, Mississippi; Brandy (David) Garrett of Dayton, Ohio; Whitney Garrett of Michigan City, Indiana; Tiana (Schavez) Austin of New Orleans, Louisiana; Candice Bostic of Michigan City, Indiana; Diamond Aikens of Laporte, Indiana; and Samaria Garrett of Dallas, Texas; maternal grandmother, Callie Hurt, and maternal grandfather, Jonnie Peterson; a special uncle, Brian Cooper, special friend, Kyra Ford, along with a host of aunties, uncles, cousins, and other relatives.
