Marie "Tooda-Baby" Thomas

Marie Thomas Hampton "Tooda Baby" was born On March 9, 1945 in Glendora, Mississippi to the Late Maggie and James Thomas.

 At a young age her parents moved to Michigan City, Indiana where she attended school, and graduated from Elston Sr. High School. 

 Marie worked at Blocksom Company for several years. In 1987 she moved to Dallas, Texas. Tooda baby started working for Arby's as a General Manager for 3yrs. Then she became a stock supervisor for Texas Drugs Superstore for 5yrs. In 1995 Marie "Tooda Baby" moved back to Michigan City to take care of her late sister Zeola George. After her mother became ill, she decided to stay and help care for her.

 Tooda Baby's hobbies were watching football, bingo, taking trips, spending time with her family and waiting on Sunday dinner from her personal chef her son Calvin Jr. Tooda Baby loved watching her Soap Operas and game shows.

 Marie "Tooda Baby" took her eternal rest on March 10, 2024. She is rejoicing in heaven with her late Grandmother: Willie Ringo, Late parents: Maggie and James Thomas, Late sister: Zeola George, Late aunt: Hester Ross and Late uncles: James Ringo, Joseph Ringo, Late grandson: David Wiley Jr., Late great grandsons: Christopher Garrett, and Da'Marrious Jenkins, Late Special friends: Mother Jenkins, Mary Thomas, and Vera Thrash.

 Marie "Tooda Baby" legacy will live on through her six children: Michael Simmons, of Lewisville, Texas; Calvin Simmons Jr., of Michigan City, Indianapolis; Jacqueline (William) Preston of Lewisville, Texas; Deborah (Christopher) Simmons Harriott of Indianapolis, Indianapolis; Elana (Howard) Timberlake of Michigan City, Indiana; Icue Thomas of Memphis, Tennessee; Two extended daughters: Marquita Tillman of South Bend, Indiana; and Shaquita Simmons of Michigan City, Indiana; (36) Grandchildren; (43) great-grandchildren; (1) great great-grandchild; two sisters: WillieMae (John) Kiner Veasey, of Michigan City, Indiana; Barbara (Tommie) Crisp, of Wichita, Kansas; Special friends: Linda Cain, Ruthann Shannon both of Michigan City, Indiana; Deborah Goldman of Atlanta, Georgia; Long-time Special friend: Calvin Simmons Sr., along with a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Tooda baby's smile, love, laughter, and presence will be sorely missed by all that knew her.

A Celebration of life will take place with family present.  Please continue to keep the family in your prayers.
