Marcus Smitty Smith

Marcus Antwon Smith was born September 30, 1983 to Ella Bedford and Randall Smith at Englewood  Hospital in Chicago, IL. Upon his arrival, he immediately stole the hearts of those around with his juicy jaws and infections smile.

Marcus attended Medgar Evers Elementary School in Chicago, IL and Lincoln Elementary (Dolton, IL) from where he graduated in 1998. He attended Thornridge High School from where he graduated in 2002. Marcus attended Columbia College for a short time to explore his love of the arts. Marcus held many talents and loved music, sports and creating art (sketching, painting, etc.)

In April 2013 Marcus became a father to Ms. Olivia who he affectionately called Poo-Da. Marcus cultivated his relationship with God and studied the Bible under the leadership of Bro Henry Buie of the Israel of God Church.
Marcus loved giving life to photos by painting them on canvases or sketching them out for display. He even hand painted shirts (before it became a “fad”). Marcus also displayed his musical talents making beats and tracks. Marcus lived life on his own terms and stood strong in what he believed in.

Marcus was preceded in death by his grandfather Levi Smith, maternal grandparents Izah & Dorothy Mayes; step-father Farlane Bedford, Uncle Reginald Leon, Uncle Patrick Nelson, & Cousin Adrianna Mayes.
Marcus carried one of the most hearty infectious laughs that will be missed by all.

A Celebration of Life will take place on Thursday, December 23, 2021 at 1pm with viewing from 12 to 1 at Precious Memories Funeral Home 7605 S. Halted St. Chicago, Illinois. A wake will take Wednesday, December 22, 2021 from 5 to 7 pm at Precious Memories Chapel. Burial to follow at Washington Memory in Homewood, Illinois. 

Marcus leaves behind to cherish his memory his mother Ella Bedford, father Randall Smith (Toya); daughter Olivia, grandmother Comella Smith, siblings Kisonah, Farlane III, Nathaniel (Nate), Kenyetta, Darius, Alexis, Kaysha, Randi Symone, Tirenzy, & Farlanda and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and family members.
