Lucille Merriweather

Lillie L. Merriweather 82, of Michigan City, Indiana departed this life on October 21, 2020. 

Funeral services will be Saturday at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church at 11:00am. Visitation will be at 10am until time of service at the Church. Pastor Danny Brown to give Eulogy.

Lillie Louise Merriweather was born March 15, 1938 in Brownsville, TN to the late Mary DeBerry and Charles Merriweather. She worked several years as an attendant before relocating to Michigan City, IN in 1975. She became a devoted Usher/ Mother to Morning Star M.B. Church under the wonderful leadership of Pastor Danny T. Brown who was also her honorary son. She was family oriented, loved to cook, loved word searches and playing solitaire. Lillie was 82 years young when she was called home to be with her Father. 

Lillie was preceded in death by both parents, Mary DeBerry & Charles Merriweather, 2 sisters, Katie Johnson of Cape, Girardeau,MO; Emma Voss ,Kansas City,MO; two brothers, Louis T. Bond, and Ollie Purl, both of Cape Girardeau, MO.

Lillie leaves to mourn her six children, James Merriweather Sr. of Cape Girardeau, MO; Mary Merriweather, Juanita Merriweather, Gladys Merriweather, Danny Merriweather Sr. and Barbra Merriweather all of Michigan City; Special daughter, Shirley Jeanes and special sons, Gary Harris, Darryl Lambert, Gerard Johnson and DeShaun Lambert. Lillie leaves her most cherished memories to twenty-three amazing grandchildren and a whopping sixty-six great-grandchildren and a lovely 28 2x’s great-grandchildren. A  host of beautiful nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Life had to be filled with laughable memorable moments because she lived to see 3 generations of children whom she will live through forever and always.
