Loretta McClane was born on April 4, 1959 in New Orleans, Louisiana to JD McClane Sr., Della Wilson-McClane.
Loretta McClane was a person who loved to go to the casino and have deep conversations about life. She loved to laugh. Listening to gospel and funk music was something she enjoyed as well. She loved to spend time with her children and grandkids. She lived her life to the fullest and always made sure those that were close to her a priority in her life. Her family and close friends are most grateful for the opportunity of having had her in their lives.
Loretta went home to be with the Lord on Oct 31, 2021 at Franciscan Health in Michigan City, Indiana. She was preceded in death by her mother Della McClane, father, JD McClane Sr, sister, Dorothy Alexander, brother, JD McClane Jr, niece, Katrice Jenkins, nephew, Demarcus Alexander, great nephew, Ira Salary and grandson Kamari Holmes.
Funeral services for Loretta McClane will be held at Coleman & Hicks Chapel 101 S. Karwick Rd. Michigan City, Indiana on Sunday, November 7, 2021 from 12-2pm. Graveside services and burial will follow at Swan Lake Memorial 5700 US-20 Michigan City, Indiana on Monday, November 8, 2021 at 11am.
Loretta leaves behind to cherish her memories are as followed: one son, Steven Nichols, one daughter, Lasheye Holmes, three granddaughters, Kamaria Holmes, Zyair Holmes, and Trinity Lenoir, three grandsons, Tyshawn Holmes, Derion Parks and Dashawn Young all of Michigan City, Indiana; five sisters, Rose Hale and Corrine Hart both of South Bend Indiana; Sheila Brooks and Juanita Cross both of Michigan City Indiana; and Mary McClane of New Orleans, Louisiana; one brother, Otis McClane of Riverside California; Loretta also leaves behind many other nieces, nephews and friends that she truly loved and cared about.
It is hard to accept the death of a loved one, but sadly, death is inevitable. She’ll be special memory from now till the end of our days here on earth. If Loretta was here today, she would say “I like it when you smile, but I love it because I’m the reason”. We pray for the soul of Loretta. May she find peace and always watch over us.
