Linda C. Jones was born on February 2, 1955 to the late Willie Lee and Arlima Parker. She was their only daughter and the apple of their eyes.
Linda was a dedicated employee. From millwright at Bethlehem Steel to training manager a Baker & McKenzie, Jenner & Block and finally retiring from Schiff Hardin LLP. She was known for her exceptional leadership skills and commitment to quality in her work. In her free time, Linda enjoyed indulging in her hobbies, which included international travel with friends, gardening, shopping, and spending quality time with her grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. These activities brought her immense joy and allowed her to create lasting memories with her loved ones. Through work and travel Linda lived her best life, and when she loved, she loved hard and when it was time for play, she enjoyed herself and the numerous friends in her presence. She always enjoyed opportunities to travel. Those trips included London, Rome, Paris, France, Sydney Australia, North Island New Zealand, Kona and Maui Hawaii, Costa Rica, Mexico, Jamaica, Michigan, Sedona, Arizona, Orlando, Florida, Mesa Arizona, New York, Wisconsin, just to name a few. Linda will truly be missed by those who were lucky enough to have shared many of life’s joys with her.
Linda was a kind, generous, and loving soul. She accepted Christ at an early age and kept herself cloaked in the heavenly father’s arms. Linda never missed an opportunity to show her love for God in praise, and worship service. She taught the young people around her with a strong, mothering hand, straight with no chaser!! She took those same hands and put them in the dirt to cultivate her garden and prepare a nutritious meal for those she loved.
Linda Parker was promoted from earth to glory on December 15, 2023 in Mishawaka, Indiana. She was preceded in death by her mother, Arlima Parker who awaited Linda’s arrival at the Heavenly Gates also her paternal grandparents: Ollie and George Payne, and maternal grandparents: Lawrence Parker and Eugene Gardner.
Linda leaves behind a cherished family, her father Willie Parker, which she adored, her daughter whom she cherished Tiana (Nathan) Key, her beloved grandchildren: Lawrence Jones, Sean Key, Zavier Key, and Neelah Key, a special sister: Christel Holley, and her brothers: Ronnie L. Parker, Cedric (Christina) Parker, and Steven Parker, Goddaughter: Donnicka Hurt. Special friends: Kimberly Nelson, Karen Ashley, Theresa Harmon, Robin Ford, Michelle Harvell, Angela McKeel, Gretchen Maguire and her Pet: Benny along with a host of other relatives and friends.
Linda’s love laughter, smile and presence will be sorely missed by all that knew her.
