Leonard Lee Obituary

Leonard Earl Lee was born on December 31, 1959, to the Loving Clinton Lee Sr., and Martha Miller in Gary, Indiana. He was the 7th of the 11 children.

In Leonard’s early years he developed a great love for knowing how things worked and why. After Earl graduated from Emerson High School, he went on to Lincoln Tech. He graduated with honors and continued getting jobs working on automobiles. Whenever a break became available Earl would take a take road trip with his uncle Joe Miller. Earl moved to Decatur, Illinois, he found it to be quite comfortable therefore staying and he continued working on cars.

On May 22, 2022, Leonard departed this life at St. Mary’s Hospital in Decatur. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, maternal and paternal grandparents, and one brother, Phillip Lee.

A visitation will take place on Tuesday, May 31, 2022, at Powell Coleman Funeral Home 3200 W. 15th Ave. Gary, Indiana 46404 from 4pm - 6pm.

He leaves to cherish his unforgettable memories, 2 sons, Isaac Black and Isiah Black, 5 brothers: Charles Lee, Clinton (Francesca) Lee, Victor Lee, Timothy (Candy) Lee, and Anthony (Johnetta) Lee, and 4 sisters: Flora (Earl) McClatchey, E Jean Hobson, Christine (Jeff) Jones, Valerie (Cliff) Levingston, two special nephews: Kevin Chatman and Steve Hobson in which Earl mentored and he followed his footsteps in working on cars, a special friend, Robert Beers.

Leonard's presence, smile, love, and laughter will be missed by all that knew him.
