Mr. Lemon Earl "Sunny" Mosby Sr., made his transition on Monday, February 3, 2020.
Funeral services will be noon, Saturday, February 8, 2020 at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church 123 Helen Street with Rev. Thomas Payton to give the eulogy. Viewing will be 11am, Saturday, February 8, 2020 at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church until the time of service.
Lemon Earl Mosby Sr. was born March 22, 1942 in Blytheville, Arkansas to the late Jesse Mosby and Laverne (Crawford) Mosby.
Lemon was affectionately known as “Sunny”. He graduated from Elston Senior High.
On May 25, 1963 in Michigan City, Indiana he married Velois (Aldridge) Mosby. She preceded him in death on April 15, 1994.
In 1996, Sunny retired from Weil McClain as a millrite. Sunny was an avid artist, he had a passion for painting and drawing. He enjoyed jazz music, storytelling, drag racing, collecting artifacts and building models.
“Sunny” leaves to cherish his fond memories, three children, Yalanda Mosby of Michigan City, Indiana, Toni (Bruce) Jackson of Atlanta, Georgia and Lemon Mosby Jr. of Orlando, Florida; one best friend that was raised like his brother, Jimmy Grant Sr. of Michigan City, Indiana; five grandchildren, Steven Howell Jr., Tristan Roby and Milton Roby II all of Michigan City, Indiana, Jalen Jackson and Jamarr Jackson both of Atlanta, Georgia; one great grandchild, Zy’Aire Roby of South Holland, Illinois; two nieces, Jill Jackson and Jah-won-dee Young and nephews, Rickey Young, Mickey Young, Loren Young, LaQueelor Young and Brandon Young; sister-in-laws, Barbara Jean Davis of St. Louis, Missouri, Rita Olds and Lynda Faye Orange both of Atlanta, Georgia, Cherry Aldridge of Michigan City, Indiana and Deborah Aldridge of Chicago, Illinois; brother-in-laws, Larry Aldridge of Atlanta, Georgia, Terrence Aldridge and Dion Aldridge both of South Bend, Indiana and Rodney Aldridge of Atlanta, Georgia and a host of cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Vernita Young and Jessie Murial-Mosby; two brother-in-laws, Curtis Ray Aldridge and Leon Aldridge Jr.
