Lee Ann Whitaker

Lee Ann Whitaker (nee Cauley), 76, recently of Mill Creek, IN and formerly of Portage, IN passed away on June 3, 2024. 

Lee was born July 18, 1947, in Jeffersonville, IN to Tom and Ella Cauley.  Her family moved frequently during her youth, and she lived in many places including Kansas, Missouri, Arizona, Texas, and Mississippi.  In the 1960s her family settled in NW Indiana, where Lee called home the remainder of her life and where she raised her only child, daughter Kristine.

Lee was employed at Anco in Michigan City, retiring after 40 years of service.  When not working Lee liked listening to music and hanging out with her large extended family.  She loved to laugh, joke and be silly and was generally the life of the party.  She was famous for her brownies and was always asked to bring them to any family gathering.

Lee is survived by grandchildren David Morganelli and Brittany Gresham and several great grandchildren.  She is also survived by her siblings Richard (Beverly) Cauley, Gail (John) Sullivan, Steve (Shirley) Cauley and Peggy (Pam) Cauley; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter Kristine, her sister Bonnie, and her brother Glen.

A private graveside service will be held at a future date.
