Lee Ross Obituary

A CARING FATHER, A BELOVED SON AND FAMILY MEMBER

LEE ANDREW “REGGIE” ROSS

Lee Andrew Ross, better known as Reggie, was born February 17, 1968 in Michigan City, Indiana to Debra Ross and the late Lee Francis.

Funeral services will be held for the immediate family only.

Early in his teenage years, Reggie was passionate about music and eventually became a professional DJ who went by the name “DJ Pledge.” For over 30 years he lived his passion, deejaying a wide range of venues, from family events to popular clubs.  Reggie knew how to personalize a gathering by making people laugh, dance, and enjoy themselves using his quick wit and abundance of jokes.  His love for his craft enabled him to make memories for all those he touched.

Reggie was a loving family member and friend.  Whether it was by way of the music blowing from his speakers as he rode through the neighborhood, honking his horn as he rode by, or through a personal one-on-one visit, he knew how to express love for family and friends.

As a young man, Reggie gave his life to Christ at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church. He departed this earthly life and began his heavenly journey, on March 24, 2020 at 3:21 p.m. from Michigan City, Indiana. He is preceded in death by his father, grandparents (including his beloved grandmother, Vivian “Grams” Cain), his Aunt, Patricia Ross, his brother, Robert “Bob” Moore Jr., and his special cousin, Courtney Hairston.

He leaves to cherish his memories: his loving fiancé, Mary Anderson (Michigan City, IN), his children Rakia Nixon (Merrillville, IN), Fazon Nixon (Indianapolis, IN), Jordan Nixon (Kansas City, MO), Taegan Ross, Jaylah Ross, Danaka Howard, Maleah Ross (Michigan City, IN), and son-in-love Reginald Nixon.

He is survived by his sisters: Roslyn Sutton, Ronda Ross, Ryann Moore (Michigan City, IN); his brothers:  Tony Edwards and André Curry (Indianapolis, IN); and by his grandchildren: Fazon Jr., Hassan, Nasir, Deanbra, Keimiyah and Khi’Lee.

He also leaves to cherish his memories, his uncles and aunts, including: Brenda Joyce Johnson, Gayle Simmons, Carmen McCoy, and Phyllis Shelley; his cousins with whom he was raised: Randall Payne, Rodney Cooper and Rametra “MiMi” Evans, and a host of beloved cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends that were very special in his life.
