Her Story...
Born on January 18, 1973, Latisha J. Harris was born to Lawrence and Dorothy Alexander in Michigan City, Indiana.
Latisha graduated from Culver High School in Culver, Indiana. She accepted Christ at an early age. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life such as playing cards, dancing, cooking, crafting, and listening to music. Her laughter lit up every room, and her presence brought people together. A hard worker all her life, Latisha was known for her heart of gold. She gave selflessly and loved deeply, always making time for those who needed her. She lived a life full of joy, creativity, and deep connection with those she loved most. Latisha was a proud member of Community Christian Center Church under the leadership of Pastor Terry O'Neal.
Latisha J. Harris was promoted from EARTH TO GLORY ON April 10, 2025 in South, Bend, Indiana. She now joins in eternal rest those who went before her: her mother Dorothy McClane, a brother: DeMarcus Alexander, grandmother: Della McClane, grandfather: JD McClane Sr., Uncle: JD McClane, Aunts: Juanita Cross and Loretta McClane, Cousins: Katrice Jenkins, Ira Salary and Demetrius Reed, sister-in-law: Jessica Alexander.
She is survived by her devoted husband: Damon Harris, and her cherished godsons: Giovanni Serianno and Terrell O’Neal, Latisha was the beloved daughter of Lawrence Alexander, Sr. (Minnie Alexander and the Cotton family), a loving sister: to Lawrence Alexander, Jr., Sharita Alexander, Antonio (Shalon Hite) Alexander Sr., and Jeff Alexander, nephews: Chance Alexander and Antonio Alexander Jr., nieces: Kyra Lutz and Darian Read, and six adored grandnieces and grandnephews, Latisha is lovingly remembered by her nephew and nieces: Omri Alexander, Ontaisha Geary, Neveah Phillips, Dylan Rose, and Samantha Winters (children of her brother) Jeff Alexander, She is also remembered by her nephew: Kendrae Dechell Searles, (son of her late brother) DeMarcus Alexander, and his daughter: Kelana Rose Forrest Searles. Latisha is survived by her loving aunts and uncles: Deloris Alexander, Uncle Father Fred Alexander, Shelia Brooks, Corrine Hart, Rose Hale, Cody McClane, and Mary McClane, special cousins: Takesha McClane-Tsamis, Angel Hale, Damon Davis, Charmaine Weathers, Pierre McClane, "Twins", Temple Alexander, Anna McClane, Rodney Fleming, and Diane Watts, and a special friend: Denise Gardner. She will be deeply missed by a host of other nieces, nephews, in-laws, cousins, extended family, Church family, and friends who loved her dearly and were touched by her vibrant spirit.
Latisha was like a mother to many, offering love, wisdom, and support to those around her in a way that only she could. Her legacy will live on through the lives she touched, and the memories shared by all who knew and loved.
A Celebration of life will be 11am on Saturday, April 19, 2025 at Zion Hill Baptist Church Location 2 (717 E. 10th St. Michigan City, Indiana 46360) with Pastor Terry O'Neal will be the Eulogist.
Viewing will be 10am until time of service at the service. Burial will take place at Highland Cemetery, 2257 Portage Ave., South Bend, Indiana 46616 on April 21, 2025 at 11:00am EST.
