On July 21, 1969, LATESA ANN WHITE entered this world as a precious gift to George and Annie Ruth Edwards. As the last and youngest child Tesa Ann was spoiled by her parents and her siblings.
LATESA was a beloved daughter, sister, niece, aunt, cousin, friend, mother, and grandmother. LATESA accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Mt Zion Missionary Baptist church under the leadership of Rev Doresy Taylor. she later united with Shiloh Temple under the leadership Pastor Jerry McAfee in Minneapolis, MN. LATESA received her formal education in Michigan City, Indiana. She graduated from Rogers Senior High School in 1987. Latesa was employed at PSW in Michigan City, IN until her and her children relocated to Minneapolis, MN in 2004, where she worked at Fairview Medical Center and Care Alliance Homecare Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Tech until her health began to fail. In 2024, Latesa relocated to Indianapolis, IN to be with her lifetime partner in crime, (Kim Gore), AKA "Louise" and (Tesa) was "Thelma". Latesa was a well-known comedian with a sharp tongue. and could fix anything. Tesa always prided herself on never receiving a whipping from her daddy.
LATESA was a fashionista who loved to shop and dress. Upon her passing Tesa had over a hundred pairs of shoes and boots which were shared amongst her family and friends as well as clothes. Latesa always dressed to impress. She strongly believed in being coordinated Latesa loved her children, grandchildren, family, and childhood friends.
Latesa was received unto our heavenly father on Tuesday, August 19, 2025, in Indianapolis, IN. She was preceded in death by her Mother: Annie Ruth Edwards, her Maternal and Paternal Grandparents: Aunt: Lillie Ruth Macon, Uncles: William Macon, Willie Orr, and Wayne Edwards.
She leaves a legacy of love in the hearts of her children, Daughter: Kamilla White, Sons: Quincy White, Sr. and Lumumba White, Jr. Grandchildren: (The Whites) Quincy Jr., Nazir, Aliyanna, Jai, Teigan, Sage. (The Clarks) Jailen, Jrue, Jace, Jamier, Jordan. Father: George (Ruby) Edwards, Brothers: Ricky Anderson, Franklin Anderson, Sr., Kerwin (Janice) Edwards, Marcus (Angelita) Britton, Sisters: Georgetta (Kenneth) Breedlove, Valerie (Ollie) Collier, Aretha Britton, Elder Alesia (Issac) Crawford and Bonus Sister: Marvla McNeal. Uncles: Richard Edwards, Jimmie Edwards, Bennie (Theresa) Edwards. Aunt: Emma Wren, Special Nieces: Reagan Rogers and Tiana Dabney, Special Nephew: Fred Webster, Jr., Sister/Cousins: Venus (Olu), Butler, and Renee Edwards. Best friends: Kim Gore Williams (Louise) and Erika Hariston. Godsons, Larry Glenn, and Darrell Jarret Caregivers Lynette (Ramon) Rodriguez, Valarie Getter Akinyeye, Sean Miller, Shacola Taylor, Her fur baby London and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and beloved friends.
A Celebration of life will be Saturday, September 6, 2025 at 11am, Zion Hill MBC (formerly Mt. Zion MBC) 123 Helen St. Michigan City, Indiana 46360. Viewing will be 10am until time of service at the Church. Interment will be Monday, September 8, 2025 at 11am Swan Lake Memeorial Gardens 5700 W US Hwy 20 Michigan City, Indiana 46360.
Latesa's love, laughter, smile and presence will be sorely missed by all that knew her.
