Julian McCoy Sr. Obituary

His Story...

It is with immense love and respect that we celebrate the life of Julian Larry McCoy Sr. who was born the youngest twin on June 20, 1966, In Chicago, Illinois to Edna and Julius McCoy.

He graduated from Fenger High School in 1984. He later attended Kennedy King College and Consumer Electronics. He accepted Christ as his lord and savior at an early age. He loved to read the Bible and had a strong faith in God. Larry tinkered with anything that was of interest to him. Larry tried his hand at several professions before finding his liking in the fields of electronics and automotives. With an infectious laugh and a heart as big as his personality, Larry had a passion for cars and basketball. He also loved to dress nicely, with class and of elegance. In his own words “sharp like my daddy”. Larry and his twin brother Harry had a very special bond, they were inseparable. They were known to each other as “Da”. He made many friends along the way; he was just that kind of person who drew people in. Larry never lost his childlike spirit and love for life. He was a man of charisma, courage, and comedy.

Julian Larry McCoy Sr., 57, of Las Vegas, Nevada (Formerly of Chicago, Illinois) gained his wings on June 16, 2024

Larry is survived by both parents: Edna McCoy, of Las Vegas, NV; and Julius Harry McCoy, Jr. of Chicago, IL; their children: Jasmine McCoy-Hutcherson and Julian Larry McCoy, Jr. both of Plainfield, IL; his four loving grandchildren: Jaylah Bills-Hutcherson, Cherish Hutcherson, Jemel Hutcherson and Jayse McCoy; his sisters: Angela Rena Foster of Riverdale, GA; and Tonjua Lyvette Foster of Las Vegas, NV; his brothers: Julius Harry McCoy, III (his twin) of Chicago, IL; Rodney Evans, and Cory McCoy both of Chicago, IL; along with a host of  nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and a host of friends.

While we lost our most beloved dad, many have lost a son, brother, nephew, cousin, friend and loved one in him. No matter what happened between you in your lives, once you were marked as important to him, he'd be by your side if you needed him. There was so much more to him than just dad, though to us that was his greatest role - he was also a friend, a coworker and colleague, a handyman, a master of sarcastic humor and witty timing to others, the list goes on and on.
