On January 6, 2003 a King was born, Jose Antwon Jenkins Jr., in Michigan City, Indiana to Jose A. Jenkins Sr., and Shontelle Jenkins.
Jose A.Jenkins 18, affectionately known as " Moehead"he got his nickname from his uncle Scott, “BE BO LODY GOT MOEHEAD THAN HE GOT BODY!!!
Jose accepted Christ at an early age. He was a Michigan City High School graduate Class Of 2021' and a former Blackhawk at Westville High School. He was enrolled at Calumet College of St. Joseph for Spring 2022. He was employed at Heartside Food Solution, but also worked alongside his dad. Jose loved the game of basketball, dancing, making people laugh, enjoyed making money, and being the counselor to everyone. Jose had a soft heart and a very strong mind. He was the excitement of the party.
Jose was called home on Thursday November 18, 2021. He was preceded in death by his bestfriend/sister Kamilion Jenkins,1 brother Brentall Hurt, his great- grandparents, George (Xenia) Jenkins, and Robert ( Elnora) Hogan Sr., Betty Joiner, Mary Oliver, and William Kimble, 2 Great Uncles, Gerald and Gary Jenkins, 3 Aunts, Pearlie Oliver, Rosetta Minley, and Betty Ruth Howard, 4 Cousins, Yakee Muhammed, Lawrence Cooper, Cameron Knox, and Gilbert Bush Jr.
A Celebration of life will take place on Saturday, November 27, 2021 at 11am at Mt. Zion Baptist Church 123 Helen St. Michigan City, Indiana 46360 with Dr. Stanley Mason to officiate and Rev. Donald Hogan to give Eulogy. Burial to follow immediately following service where he will be laid to rest peacefully right next to his sister Kamilion.
Jose leaves to cherish his parents: Jose (Kathy) Jenkins, Shontelle (Brandon) Hogan-Abrons all of Michigan City, Indiana; his siblings: Antonio Hurt, of Santan Valley, Arizona; Sierra (Damen) Anthony of Las Vegas, Nevada; Kahlia (Darius) Dunning of LaPorte, Indiana; Kyanna Jenkins Winston of Salem, North Carolina; Alexis (Desmond) Tompkins, of Indianapolis, Indiana; and Kaileigh Johnson, of Michigan City, Indiana; Grandparents: Georgina Jenkins, Jose Crosby and Ruth Banks all of Michigan City, Indiana; and Rev. Donald (Genevia) Hogan, of Madison, Wisconsin; Uncles: Lawrence Kimble, Scott (LaKisha) Pender, Don Hogan Jr., Robert Horton and Timothy Hogan, Aunts: Ardora Hogan, Ebony (Mister) Austin, Ivory (Greg) Jenkins and Joia Sangs, Cousins but more like siblings: Kivian Pender, and LaQunn Wilson, DaCorai McDuuffie, Special Cousins: Skyiesha Pender, Tyallah Kimble, Jalyn Orzech, Kandi Williams, Vinson Henderson Jr. ,Shavonne Oliver and Ijena Jenkins, Special brothers and sisters: Dontarius Phillips, Abrile, Brittany, and Brian Abrons, Special Bluddas; Caron McKinney, T’Lijah Robinson, Godsisters: Keshyanna Cooper, DeJah Johnson, Gwen Johnson, Imunque Dantzler, Special Friends: Omarion Hatch, Shelly Miller, Tahari Watson, Javont Hodges, Evan Bush, Desmond Hawkins, Donya Grant, Jamie Hodges, Alysses Bohle, Rai’Myre McCormick, Johnasia Bernard, Aniya Kennedy, Kenaan Tucker, Basketball coaches: Thomas Wells, Antonio Hurt, William Walker, Tatiana Rodriquez, Nate Morzonksi , Dre Grant ,and Drew Eubank. 19 nieces and nephews, along with a host of other relatives, and friends.
Jose is now with his best friend/sister Kamilion Jenkins and they both will be sorely missed!!!!
