Jessie Mae Dupree-Mitchell was born on March 24th, 1937, in Union, MS., to Jesse Solomon Dupree and Pearlie L. Dupree.
She accepted Christ at an early age. For over 20 years, she was employed by USS Corporation Gary Works and was well versatile in many other occupations. She was a dedicated servant to her family, community, and church. We will always remember the love that Jessie had for family and all of those that she touched during her life.
When the gates of Heaven opened, Jessie was greeted by: parents, Jesse (Solomon) and Pearlie (Madea) Dupree; siblings, Lucille, Melvin, Robert Earl, Choice, Odessa Randolph, Leviticus (Poo-Baby), and Dorothy (Dot); her beloved son Runny Earl Sr. (Frog), and grandsons Runny Earl Jr. and Johnny Gill-Ware.
A Celebration of life will take place on Saturday, July 24, 2021 at 1pm, with viewing from 11 to 1pm at Christian Valley Baptist Church 1910 Adams St. Gary, Indiana 46407.
She leaves to cherish her memories, 3 daughters, Evelyn J. Tucker of Indianapolis, IN., Mary L. (Ricky) Gill of Philadelphia, PA., and Shirley D. Gill of East Chicago, IN., 1 Sister, Pearlie N. Dupree of Indianapolis, IN and 3 Brothers, Pastor Claudy (Anna) of Gary, IN., Pastor Robert Lee (Emma) of Detroit, MI., and Johnny Dupree of Gary, IN. 20 Grandchildren, 59 Great-Grandchildren, 14 Great-Great Grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.
