Jerome Dennis "Dennie" Harrison Sr.

Jerome Dennis “Dennie” Harrison Sr., was born on November 4, 1948 to Lennie Mae and Robert Lee Harrison-Frierson.

Jerome attended Elston High School.  He was later employed at Weil McLain from 1978 until his retirement in 2010.

In 1981 Jerome met Sherry and In 1989 Jerome and Sherry were united as one and remained together until his passing. They had a wonderful life together traveling and going to the Indianapolis Colts football games where he was a season ticket holder since 2001. He enjoyed staying downtown in Indianapolis also, in the hotels during the games. He enjoyed watching other sports such as basketball, racing and boxing with his special friend “Randal Anderson”. Jerome had a passion for skating back in the day at LaPorte Skating Rink. Jerome believed in spending time with his family and buddies, hanging out in Fedders Alley, playing Frisbee, picnicking, and watching the kids play in the park was a great day for him. He also enjoyed going to the amusement parks, bike riding, sledding, and camping with his kids and grandchildren.

Jerome lived a long beautiful and happy life, now he can rest with God in heaven. Jerome Harrison Sr. gained his wings March 21, 2024 at home. He was proceeded in death by his parents: Lennie Mae and Robert Lee Harrison-Frierson, one daughter: Trasheal Harrison, a sister: Ethel Allen, brothers: Leon Frierson, Edward Frierson, and Robert Harrison Jr., and a grandson: Austin Jenkins.

He leaves to cherish his memories his loving wife: Sherry Harrison, 3 sisters: Brenda Rochester, Marion Frierson, and Barbara Morris, 2 brothers: Leonard “Range” Frierson and David “Poncho” Farmer, 2 sons: Jerome “Romey” D. Harrison Jr.,  and LaMar Scott Bush, 3 daughters: Annie Faye Bowen, Janika (Edwin) Shani Hawkins  and LatRitzza Renae Bush, 15 grandchildren: 30 great grandchildren: and a host of nieces, nephews and a host of family members and friends.

Jerome’s love, laughter, presence, and smile will be sorely missed by all that knew him.

A Celebration of life will be Saturday, March 30, 2024 at 1pm at High Praise Outreach Ministries 301 E. 9th St. Michigan City, Indiana 46360. Interment will be private.
