Jeffery McKenzie Ferrell Jr., known affectionately as Jeff, was born on December 13, 1979, in Michigan City, Indiana and passed away on March 3, 2026 in Olympia Fields, Illinois.
Jeffery was known for his humility, quick wit, and his charismatic charm. He was a supportive figure to all who were fortunate enough to know him. Jeffery was baptized at an early age and attended the Zion Hill M.B.C. where he nurtured his faith with devotion.
Jeffery was a skilled crane operator at a local steel mill. His dedication and expertise were a testament to his professional commitment. Despite his demanding work, Jeffery was never too busy to share a joke or lend a helping hand. His funny nature made the most challenging tasks seem lighter and his work environment a joyful place to be. Jeffery's hobbies extended beyond his work, but he brought the same commitment and enthusiasm to everything he did.
Jeffery is survived by his loving parents, Glenda and Jeff Sr., his supportive brothers Eric and Derrick Ferrell, his cherished niece and nephew, Naomi and Jaylen Ferrell; a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and special friends.
The memory of his warm smile and supportive nature will forever be etched in the hearts of his family and friends.
Jeffery’s life was a testament to the verse from Philippians 2:3, “Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves.” This verse encapsulates the selfless, humble, and supportive nature that Jeffery embodied throughout his life.
May his memory continue to bring joy and comfort to all who knew and loved him.
