Javon Townsend Obituary

HIS LEGACY…

Seventeen years ago on July 31, 2008, a young prince was born to Precious Cain and James Townsend IIl and his name is Javon Japre Townsend.

Javon had the genuine gift of loving all his family, his friends, and anyone he was close to. His infectious smile lit up every room he entered. He had a genuine sense of humor; downright goofy but did not need to be the center of attention. He had a laid-back demeanor, and did not care to be seen, however that smile and his laughter always drew people close to him everywhere he went. Javon had a love for working, shopping and dressing nicely, which meant that he had to keep a fresh haircut, and he loved his barber, Dog Head. He also loved football, music, dancing, video games, and his Door Dash dashpass. "You want it, he got you."

Javon spent some of his formative years in Memphis Tennessee where he shared that same loving impact on many family members and a host of friends. He attended Michigan City High school and had intentions of seeking out a trade in welding, or automotive repair. Javon was also employed at Panera Bread in Michigan City.

Javon unexpectantly departed his earthly life on May 9, 2026. There to welcome Javon into eternal life is his grandparents Jimmy Cain, Arthur (Angel) Torrance, and Madea Crawford. Uncle Brandon Garrett, Aunt Arielle Townsend, and Deangelo Barnett who was a special father figure to him.

Javon's loved ones left here on earth to cherish and keep his unforgettable memories alive are his mother Precious Cain and Father: James Townsend III; Grandparents: Daphne Hudson, Michael Cain, Gyla Terrell, Alesia (Willie) Vinson, James (Johnnie Washington) Townsend Jr., and Lee Kirkwood Sr.; Siblings: Shakyla Cain, James, Jeremy, Jalion, Jalayia and Jurnee Townsend; Aunts: Arlena Sherrod, Brittany Garrett, Michelle Cain, LeeAnna, Alee'yia, and Alayna Kirkwood, Ellease (Rick) Smith, Ciera Kirkpatrick, Adriana Perrigo, Erin Jones, Samaya Townsend, and Jordyn Townsend; Uncles: Micheal and Dequan Cain, Darien Ethridge Sr., Lee Kirkwood Jr., Cameron Walker, and Akil Washington, Special Cousins: Jacarious Garrett, Anylah and Naveah Conley, Amoni Toney, and Darien Ethridge Jr. (Deejay), and Jaylen Green; his special friends: Tinasia Mclin, Tyler Manns, Kimora Corley and Ava Kelly, along with a host of many more cousins, a whole lot of FAMILY, and friends.

Javon is so blessed in family that he still has the honor of having 4 great grandmothers still alive and well, Mothers Doris Tillman, Linda Crawford, Cora Stewart, and Ellease Hogan. Let's give them their flowers and honor the true living matriarch of Javon's life, because FAMILY is what Javon loved more than anything. Without them, there would be no him.

Although death is evitable, 17 is too soon. May his spirit live within all of us.
