Jack Lovelady Obituary

Jack Porter Lovelady, born on August 1, 1968 in Charleston, Missouri to Hossie Lovelady and Christine Porter Lovelady. Sadly, on September 2, 2024, Jack passed away. He was a vibrant soul who brought joy and laughter to everyone around him. He was the 14th of 16 children.

Jack attended Crane High School, where he made lifelong friends and left a lasting impression on his classmates. He was known as the life of the party, always ready with a joke or a funny story that could light up any room. His comedic spirit and playful nature often brought smiles to those who had the pleasure of knowing him, even if he could be a bit annoying at times.

Jack had various jobs, but the one he loved the most was providing security.  He provided security at various venues throughout the city.  It was something he loved to do and was good at it.  Often making people forget they were in a security line by making them laugh.

A devoted member of Travelers Rest Baptist Church, Jack found a sense of community and belonging under the leadership of Pastor C. D. Seals. His faith was important to him.

Jack's legacy will be cherished by his children, Jack, Drake, Sheymoney and Jayquan, family and friends, who will remember him not only for his humor but also for his ability to make every gathering a memorable occasion.

Jack was preceded in death by both his parents Hossie Lovelady and Christine Porter Lovelady, his siblings Aaron, Geraldine, James Brown and twins Paul and Pauline.

Jack is survived by his children: Jack Porter Newson, Drake Norwood, Sheymoney Jordan Lovelady, Jayquan Dewand Thomas, Grandchildren:  Jayquan Thomas Jr. and Jay Cole Erick Thomas, Siblings: Pearlie, Johnnie, Everlene (Eugene), Hossie Jr., Robert Lee, Lee Curtis (Juliette), Winford, JW, Roady Ann (Albert) and Brenda (Demone) and many nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.

Jack will be deeply missed, but his laughter and light will continue to resonate in the lives of all who knew and loved him.
