George Francis Poteet

George Francis Poteet was born on August 23, 1943 to Hercshel Poteet and Dorothy Grott-Poteet in Michigan City, Indiana. 

George loved to fish and would go on fishing trips often. He also taught his wife Catherine to fish. He liked to play poker and Yahtzee with family and friends. 

On August 24, 2007 he married Catherine Suber (Morlan), and renewed their wedding vows a year later on August 24, 2008 so she could have the wedding of her dreams.

George Frances Poteet gained his wings on September 27, 2024 at home surrounded by family. He was preceded in death by his parents: Herschel and Dorothy Poteet, maternal and paternal grandparents, amongst other family members that have gone on before him.

He leaves to cherish a lifetime of memories his loving wife: Catherine Lynn Poteet, 4 daughters: Melissa (Mark) Page, Stacy Green Poteet, Trina Ann (Enrique) Surber, and Tamera (Cory) Hon, 1 son: Adam (Amy) Poteet, 1 brother: Herschel Frances Poteet, grandchildren: Makayla Page, Braiden Wyatt Green, Avery Hon, Karley Hon, Justin Moyao Surber, Jonathon C. Moyao Surber, Katelyn E. and Surber Robles, great-grandchildren: Maliki Beatty Surber and Joshua Surber, along with a host of other relatives. 

George will sorely missed by all that knew him. No services are scheduled at this time, but a Celebration of life will take place at a later date.
