Dr. Bobbie Jean ("Mother Bobbie”) Lindsey

HER LEGACY...

She was born in Bogalusa, Louisiana to the late Horace May and Sophronia Walker. She was the youngest of eight children. In 1953 she was saved and filled with the Holy Spirit. She was a lifetime of faithful service to the Lord. She moved to Michigan City in 1955 and remained steadfast in her calling wherever she lived.

Dr. Lindsey was united in holy matrimony to Deacon Joe Willie Lindsey for 45 years until his passing 25 years ago. She was the loving mother of three children: Mary (Toosties) Lindsey Dye, Angelo Corley Sr., and Joe Lindsey Jr. Dr. Lindsey was a cherished grandmother and great-grandmother to many. She enjoyed cooking, baking, and praying. She co-founded the **Daughters of Zion ministry and was dedicated to training young women in Godly living, prayer, and biblical principles. In 2000 she earned her **Doctorate in Theology** from Muskegon Bible Institute.

After which since 2003 she has faithfully served at Christ Temple Apostolic Ministries as the President of the Missionary Department, Sunday School Superintendent and Adult Sunday School Teacher. She was also a faithful business owner for many years before retiring.

Dr. Bobbie Jean Lindsey, affectionately known as Mother Lindsey, peacefully entered eternal rest on November 22, 2025 at her home in Michigan City, Indiana at the age of 88. She was preceded in death by her Parents, Her husband: Joe Willie Lindsey, Her Son: Angelo Corley Sr., Daughter in law: Phyllis Corley, Her Son: Joe Willie Jr., Siblings: Horace May Jr., Louis May. Jodie May, Willie May, Ida Luvine, Eliose May, Clifton May, along with several other loved ones who awaited her arrival. 

Her legacy of faith, prayer, and servanthood will continue for generations to come. She will be sorely missed by all that knew her. 

A Celebration of life will be Saturday, December 13, 2025 at 10am, Christ Temple Apostolic Church 2308 E. Michigan Blvd. Michigan City, Indiana 46360. 

Viewing will be 9am until time of service at the Church. Interment to follow at Greenwood Cemetery.
