Dione White Obituary

Dione Jawon White affectionately known as “Jack Jack” was born to Ronnie White and Wykeya Taylor on October 26, 2003 in Chicago, IL. He was named after his Paternal Grandmother Diane White whom preceded him in death.

Dione was raised by his Father in a household with his Brother Keonnie & his Sister Wyketa. He was a great Brother to his siblings & had a relationship with them all. It might be I’m safe to say he was everyone’s favorite Brother.

Dione went to school early on in Michigan City Indiana & excelled in the classroom. His Aunt Donna Darlene helped raise him & he had a deep love for her. Dione excelled athletically in Football, Wrestling, LaCrosse, and Basketball during his early years. He was a natural competitor that believed he was the best at everything he ever did.

Moving back to Chicago was an adjustment for him and his siblings. He attended Chicago Jesuit Academy for middle school. Dione was a charismatic and outgoing young man who was well liked at school. He developed deep and meaningful bonds with adults and students.  He had a positive energy that was infectious and loved getting others to laugh. Dione made the school day better for everyone around him, every day.  If he knew someone was upset, he would find a way to make them smile. And he stood up for others around him, regardless of if he knew them personally or not.

Dione had a natural intelligence and caught on to topics at school quickly. He craved academic challenges and loved contributing to intellectual classroom discussions.  He was inquisitive and analytical.  Dione challenged rules and structures within the school and the world that did not make sense to him.  He wanted every student to learn, grow, be understood, and treated with fairness.  He brought true joy to the Marshall High School community and will be greatly missed.

Dione was called home on May 9, 2023 at Sinai Hospital.

He leaves behind his Father Ronnie White, Lisa White, whom he accepted as his Mother in our home & Nastassia Thomas as a Mother figure outside of our home; Brothers LeDarrius, Joseph, Keonnie, Isaiah & Kahree; Sisters Wyketa & Kenya; Nephews Carmelo & Julius; Niece Diane; grandfather Michael Jones; Special Cousins Ranisha, Alana & Janise; a host of Girlfriends, Uncles, Aunts, Cousins, Close Friends & Homies.

He was preceded in death by his Honorary Brothers Jamarion aka Sosa & Navas aka Cap, his Aunt Donna Darlene.
