Diana Lynn Hurt

HER STORY...

Diana “Lynn” Hurt affectionately known as Diane was born on February 25, 1959 in Michigan City, Indiana to Oscar and Clara Lee Hurt.

Diane accepted Christ at an early age. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Lakeland. She grew up in Michigan City all her life and attended Michigan City Area Schools. She was a C.N.A. for many years. She enjoyed working in the yard, planting and hanging her plants, watching her western movies in black and white on T.V. but most of all she loved spending time with her family and grandchildren.

Diana went to join her heavenly Father and family that awaited her on February 5, 2023 at Franciscan Health. She was preceded in death by her parents, maternal and paternal grandparents, her partner in crime who was the “Bonnie and Clyde” to many Walter Lenoir Sr., and a special uncle Johnny B. Hurt.

She leaves to cherish her unforgettable memories her 5 children whom she adored: Waltrina (Allen) Hatch, Claresa Lenoir, Walter (Dione) Lenoir, Damita (Lydia) Smith, and Nikita Miller, 4 siblings: Lee Andrew Neal, Oscar Hurt, Barbara Hurt, and LaTasha Graham, 17 grandchildren: Dominic Lee, Jonathan Lee, Dre’Veyon Lenoir, Allison Lenoir, Davon Lenoir, Keandre Lenoir, Markesha Shelly, Marquise Shelly, Rinesha Morris, Allen Hatch, Aaron hatch, Ay’den Hatch, A’Keria Hatch, Lamar Turner  Jr., Amiri Turner, and Amauri Turner, 4 great-grandchildren: A’raiya Joy, Sa’rai, Shy’lynn and Dakota, 8 nieces and nephews: Lamont Hurt, Tysheka Frazier, Bonni Turner , Deaunka Neal, Floretha Neal, Jeremy Neal, and Chandra Neal, Marcus Ballinger Jr., a special Friend: Malvina Williams, a special cousin: Nancy Davis and a host of other relatives and friends.

Diane’s love, laughter, presence, and smile will be sorely missed by all that knew her.

A Celebration of life will take place on Saturday, February 18, 2023 at 11am at New Covenant Outreach Ministries 419 Grant St. Michigan City, Indiana 46360 with Pastor Dwayne Hurt to do Eulogy. Interment will be private.
