Devon D (Birdsong) Havis

Devon Danielle Birdsong was born to the union of the late Wendell Arnold and Joyce Kim Birdsong Walker on July 10, 1978 in Michigan City, Indiana.

Devon loved playing Bingo! She enjoyed cooking, baking, and hanging out with family and friends. What she loved most of all, was spending time with her seven children.

On June 23, 2006 in Michigan City, Indiana Devon married Lamar Havis.

Devon D. Havis departed this life on Wednesday June 3rd, 2020 at Franciscan Health, in Michigan City, Indiana. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Rodney Birdsong; mother-in-law, Charita Havis; Grandfather, Randolph Williams, Rev. Joseph Arnold and Father-in-law, Lamar Williams.

She Leaves to cherish her fond memories, her husband Lamar Havis, two sons: Delvon Coleman and Daivion Washington, five daughters: Lamaryia & Lamayia (Twins), Myanna, Lamaree, and Ramal Havis; Grandchildren: Caleea and Camora Coleman; Sisters: Brandy (Michael) Crawford, and Johndalyn Veasey both of Michigan City, Indiana; Brother in Law: Michael Havis of Chicago, Illinois; Grandmothers: Betty Williams of Michigan City, Indiana; and Betty Hogan Arnold of Detroit, Michigan; Grandfather: Napolun (Pamela) Birdsong of Des Moines, Iowa; Aunts: Yvette (LV) Crawford, Vickie (Melvin) Long, Brenda(Victor) Conner, Angela (William) Williams all of Michigan City, Indiana; Lisa (William) Adams of Hobart, Indiana; Cynthia Garrett of Indianapolis Indiana; Andrea (Darryl) Tiggs, Kimberly Arnold and Tracey Arnold of Detroit, MI; Uncles: Ricky Anderson of Granger, Indiana; Frank Anderson of Michigan City, Indiana; Kevin Arnold and Zavion Hogan of Detroit Michigan; Special Friends: Felicia Young, Rae Steward, Keonna Williams, and Jennifer Clark; Special Cousins: Sade Williams, Krystol Scates of Corssett, Arkansas; Special Stepfather: Darren Scott Walker.

 Devon will be missed by a host of relatives, friends and all who knew her.

Viewing will be 10:00am to noon followed by the funeral at noon on Friday, June 12, 2020 at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Swan Lake Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The family requests that CDC guidelines be followed and face masks are required.
