Deborah Sparkman Obituary

Her Legacy..

Deborah Ann Sparkman was born on October 23, 1956, in Michigan City, Indiana to Michael Fleming and Marie Bureau.

Deborah Ann accepted Christ at an early age. She was a God-fearing Woman, who's faith in God made her strong. She was not just a Mother, Sister, Grandmother, and Friend but a guiding light, and indomitable matriarch whose love, wisdom, and strength shaped the lives of all who were fortunate enough to know her. She was a faithful member of RENEW MC Church under the leadership of Pastors' David Ashley and Dwayne Hurt Sr. She served on the planning committee board. As a cherished Mother, she nurtured her children, instilling in them values of kindness, resilience, and compassion. Her support was unwavering; she celebrated our joys and comforted us in our sorrows. Deborah Ann set the standard for empathy and generosity, making her home a sanctuary where everyone felt welcomed and valued.

Deborah’s unconditional love extended beyond her family. She dedicated her life to nurturing others, both as a professional daycare provider, and as a pillar of her family. Her love for children was not confined to her career; it extended to her home, where she selflessly cared for her family. She continuously advocated for the least, the lonely, and the left out. She inspired countless individuals and did not know a stranger. Her laughter could light up the darkest rooms, and her wise words often served as comforting reminders during challenging times. With a heart full of love, she taught us the importance of giving back and standing up for what is right. As we celebrate her life, we remember her not only for her accomplishments but for the warmth she shared with everyone she encountered. We will carry forward her spirit of kindness, her dedication to family, and her love for community.

Deborah Ann Sparkman was promoted from Earth to Glory on July 20, 2025 in Crown Point, Indiana. She was preceded in death by her Parents: Marie and Wilbert Bureau, Sr., and Michael Fleming, her Brother: Patrick Fleming, her Grandmother: Rosielee Kiner, Uncle: Grover Chambers, and her Nephew/Godson: Ja'Mieriea  Woodard. They were all touched by her generosity and spirit.

Deborah leaves behind a legacy of love to her Children: Keesha Allen, Ta'Mella (Kenneth) Ferron, Melvin Bond, Jr., Richard (Yolanda) Bond, and Corey Bonds. She was a generous Sister to: Calvin (Delores) Kiner, Sr., Lucille Bureau, Wilbert Bureau, Jr., Rickey Bureau, Deotis (Sandy) Bureau, Rosella Bureau, Kennedy Bureau, Liesa (Jeff) Howell, Ava Mosley, Jackie (Will) Crawford, and Anthony Fleming. She was a cherished Grandmother to 16 grandchildren: Jordan, Daicreshia, David, Geirdon, Jasmine, Jakyra, Anthony, Kayden, Sarie, Nariah, Ja'Vuan, Journee, Ahmya, Marley, Gianna, and London. She was also a proud Great-Grandmother to two Great Grandchildren: Amari and Geniyah. She also heartwarmingly welcomed 5 Godchildren into her life: Toi Cheri, Eugene, Ja’Mieria, Johnesha, Tristan. She was also a treasured Aunt to a host of Nieces and Nephews who adored her immensely.

In closing, let us remember her with smiles, as she would want us to do, and honor her memory by continuing to foster love, compassion, and family togetherness. Rest in peace, Deborah Ann; your spirit will forever remain in our hearts.
